HI does anyone know where i may get a new face for my Sony CDX L400X I bought this stereo new a few yrs back had it installed in my car & some **** broke in through the sun roof tried nicking it, however they could'nt get it out of the bracket, unlucky for them however the toe rag took the front ....so i've been left with a new stereo that can't be played as i have no front !! anyone know where i maybe able to get another one plz ???.... many thanks Lilsonic p.s i'm in England u.k

Assuming you do not have a dimming wire (orange or orange/white) connected, it sounds to me like the display lighting is out. Small bulbs might be able to be replaced if you can find the parts and are technically inclined. If not, I'd suggest looking for a replacement face at pacparts.com or buying a new radio. Probably a new radio because the face will most likely cost more than the entire radio.
I would check the crossovers.
If you are turning it up too loud, then the amp may be clipping (into distortion) and this is then setting the protection circuits off in the crossovers.
Do you have the remote turn on lead hooked up to solid blue wire from the back of the deck? Your amp shoild be hooked up to Bluw w/ white strip as the solid blue wire shuts off when the tuner is off, its used only for the power antenna.
The drive(optical) drives door mechanism has malfunctioned. If the PC CD drive can be replaced that would be the best, but repairing is also not cost-effective...........sodeep
