Tip & How-To about Car Audio & Video

No sound from my car amp, wired up right won't come on

Installed my Audiobahn A2300HCX amp to my kenwood head unit. Just got this amp off ebay, ran all my wires for my amp. Finally it was time to hear it BUMP, but nothing... As i calmed down form woundering bout if i got ripped off on ebay, i recheck all my wires, reground the wire to an other spot, check my fuse on amp, and inline fuse from power wire off battery, AGAIN NOTHING.......... FINALLY had an idea bout jumping a wire from the power terminal (off the amp) to the remote terminal (off the amp), AND BOOOOM my amp kicked on... TURNS out it was my remote wire off the head unit off the harness was bad never hooked up an amp to it before. BUT dont leave it that way the amp will stay on all the time i only did it to see if it works. THANK GOD IT WASNT THE AMP

two A2300HCX amp on ONE AW1508X is it possible? Over doing it?

Nothing is too much but surely it's worse and destructive if you don't have enough. If you can bridge the amp to power a single sub that would be the best. So if money is not a factor then having too much will only be destructive once you set it more than it's limits, you'll know when that happens. It will be very annoying or really quiet.

Amp. Audiobahn a2300hcx

If the subs are dual 4 ohm voice coils and if your amp is good down to 1 ohm, your best bet is:
  1. Connect the voice coils in parallel ("+"s together, "-"s together). This will make the impedance of each sub 2 ohms.
  2. Connect the subs in parallel.
  3. Bridge the amp to one channel.
This should max the amp out at 2400W, which means about 1200W per sub.

If your subs are single 4 ohm voice coils, do the same steps, but you'll only be able to load the amp to 2 ohms, which means about 600W per sub.

Also keep in mind that box size, type, and quality make a big difference in how subs sound.

Audiobahn A1500HCT in Protection Mode

try just hooking up a power wire and ground wire only. disconnect your subs from your amp along with the remote wire and RCA's. if you have some jumper wires or run a wire from the power terminal to the remote wire. YOUR amp should come on, if it still stay's in protection mode it might be shot... hope this was helpful, i couldn get my a2300hcx to come on and tryed this and it came on turns out it was my remote wire was bad of the head unit...
