Need Vista Home Basic

My ACER Aspire 3680 had viruses. I need Vista home Bacic disc to restore the operating system. Having trouble getting one, even from Acer.

Usually the operating system is on a separate partition especially for reinstallation when things go pearshape.

Some models used the SHIFT 0 when booting up to get to the windows installation. If you have deleted ALL partitions and reformatted then you have a real problem. Call DELL if you have not deleted partitions and find the specific s]sequence of accessing the partition for your model.

Hello

OK, the problem is that you will need to install the older operating system before you install the new one, you have done this the wrong way around.

If you do it correctly, you will have a boot menu which will let you choose from which system you want to boot.

Vista Home Bacic Repair.
Unfortunately not, this option is available in Windows 7 but not Vista. In order to repair an installation of home basic, you need a home basic disk.

You need to use the restore disk that came with the computer. If you didnt make one, Just follow the prompts after you do the f10 thing Ie restore the system as new or to a previouse condition.

Recover an Acer 3680

I had the same problem...I originally thought it might be a ram chip and I started testing them...Turns out that the second ram socket was bad and I just had to remove one of the ram chips.

you can edit your windows registry, follow this step from microsoft.

Vista software and system retore
if you get that from walmart it has to have a sticker with a serial number and a tel number or you can conect to the internet and register your computer they may will ask you about that number so ones you provides that they will give you the serial number that will work on your computer and must of the time the computer has the hard drive divided on 2 one is C:\ an the other is D:\ this last one is the one has the restore system
