Hoover brushes stopped spinning

My Hoover Steam Vac with clean surge is not working right. The brushes underneath will not spin. I have taken them out and cleaned them, I have cleaned the indicator screen, and have tried adjusting the brush settings from off to high and nothing worked. Please help.

Hoover F7410-900 Steam Vac Dual V scrub brushes not working

If the brushes will to spin when you try to turn them by hand remove them from the machine. If the brushes spin ok after removing them the the turbine assembly is seized up and will likely need replaced. If the brushes won't spin when they are removed from machine take the plastic cover off the brushes and clean out the gears.

The spin brushes on my hoover steam And vac don't

Either the pin on the brushes that attaches to the motor shaft is broken, or the motor is dead. Did you check the switch on the front of the unit to make sure it wasn't turned off?

Brushes won't rotate on hoover steam vac. I have removed them and cleaned.

The brushes turn by the airflow from the vacuum suction turning a turbine motor to spin the brushes. First try to spin the brushes by hand. If they won't turn it usually means the brushes are clogged with hair and debris or need replaced or the turbine could be seized up. If the brushes won't spin reach under the brushes and push the little tabs and remove the brush block asssembly from the machine. If the brushes spin freely after you remove them from the machine then that means that most likely the turbine is seized and will need to be repaced. If the turbine is not seized you may simply just have a clogged filter screen. Most steam vacs have a red screen filter either on top or underneath the machine. On the top it is under a little clear plastic cover that you have to pry off before you can pull the screen out to clean it. If it's underneath you can pull it out and clean it.

Spin brushes spin freely on steam vac when not attached to cleaner indicator screen not dirty speed selector is in high position brushes are clean spin brush indicator when brushes attached to machine...

If this is a Hoover Steam vac, the turbine which drives the brushes is bad. If not a Hoover, then what is it, they are different, need brand and model number.

Problems with the Hoover Steam vac Heated carpet cleaner

The first thing to check is the filter on the inside of the lid to the recovery tank, if it is all of the way up to the top, it can cause variouys problems, it should have a 1/4 in gap from the top. The other thing is the turbine, that is what drives the brushes. If the brush block is ok, then most likely the turbine is bad and will ahve to be replaced. Part # for the turbine is 43191006 and sells for about $60.

Problems with the Hoover Steam vac Heated carpet cleaner

This happens when the filter on the inside of the lid for the dirty water tank is pushed all of the way up. You need to leave a 1/4 in. gap from the top to the top of the filter.
