Fixing our hotel's Hayward CSPAXI55 spa heater.

Fixing our hotel's Hayward Comfort Zone CSPAXI55 electric spa heater. The former maintenance guy removed/bypassed the thermostat (using the circuit breaker as the "ON/OFF" switch). Have new t-stat, need an electrical schematic. Where can I get one ?

You can probally get a manuel on line if you go through Hayward.
When he took the old one out he probally just wired the circut together where the temp assembly goes into the cabnet in the top right front of cabnet in the upper panel. Then the temp probe runs around the side to the water header or manifold. If this is in the orignal spot it is on the right of the heater and easy to find. I'm not sure but if the exchanger has been turned then it will be around the back side of the header and it will be on the left side of the heater. Geting a manuel for this is a good idea anyway, good luck.

What size breaker does the 11kw hayward comfort zone electric spa heater require?

It does make a difference as to input voltage. But usually at 11KW this would be a 220V unit and require a 50 amp breaker. 11,000W divided by 220VAC = 50 amps. 230 or 240V input the same 50 A breaker.

Heater wont stay on. HELP!

Have the Hayward guys come out and prove to you that it is indeed low pressure and then get an estimate for repair costs. Assuming there is no warranty in effect, you might want to locate the heater manufacturer for guidance. They may have a website that may be of help.

Pool Heater won't light the main burner.

Comfort Zone was purchased by Hayward and is no longer produced. Only parts will be available. You might contact Hayward directly at www.haywardnet.com to see if they have and manuals archived.

New contact coil chattering, when adjusting thermastat from high to low. Works well on high. I have a Hayward electric spa heater, 11kw.

Their is a chatter guard built into the safty circut and it's job odley enough is to stop this from happening. Your heater needs the buffer this provides to keep the thermostat from cycling on and off when you are close to the set point. Good luck with this all the info you should need is in your book.

Hayward Comfortzone pool heater pilot will stay lit but main burner will not fire. If the TH terminals are jumpered it will, but it won't stay on.

Have you tried jumping the pressure switch, as well as the on/off switch. sounds like something in the safety circuit is open
