Acer OrbiCam not working (acer aspiral9412zwsmi)

Hi thank you for visiting and am willing to help you with that problem, if the orbicam stop working its because the drivers which activate the cam could be missing so i have a good suggestion for you that should fix that problem, go to: www.acer-orbicam.software.informer.com and download the software driver for your orbicam and your computer will be fine one more

Install the drivers from acer.com, install only the missing drivers

Go to this link and look up your model for the manual also use the Help menu for Orbicam

If not working then:

** Note ** When the My Pictures or Pictures folder gets full, camera will not work - Cut and Paste all pictures in that
folder to another folder and restart Orbicam program.

If that does not work then do this:

Start - Programs - look for Acer Empowering Technology then Acer E-Recovery - The look at the bottom and you will
"Backup", "Burn disk" and Restore" choose Restore - choose Apps and Drivers at the bottom of Restore tab (it will say
extracting) - once extracted - click Install - click Vista or (XP) on the left - click Drivers - click Camera or CCD - on the
right side of the screen, click a phrase that has something like "Install now", follow on screen instructions.

you should be able to get the drivers and application from acer.

select notebook, aspire 5100, and scroll down to acer orbicam

you will need to go into the control panel, system, device manager, and check under imaging for acer orbicam, double click it and it should tell you the manufacturer (bison, logitech, suyin)

grab the appropriate driver and camera applications

remove the installed orbicam application via add/remove programs and reboot if necessary prior to installing the new drivers and application.

if this doesn't fix the issue, please post a follwup and i will see what i can find out.

click here , then click driver and utilities, then click Bison for the cam driver, unless youre on Vista it will be orbicam on the list below it on the vista menu

There are two types of driver for the orbicam, Bison and Logitech, so ensure you have the correct one installed, especially if you are running Vista as it's a different driver again, and it's installed a seperate peice of hardware although it's built into the notebook.
