PUSH THE STOP BUTTON UNTIL YOU HEAR A BEEP OR THE READOUT CHANGES, THEN UNPLUG, PLUG BACK IN AND CHOOSE THE PROGRAM YOU WANT.

You never said if you remembered to select the LIGHT Crust setting each time. Did you? Are you? If you ARE using the LIGHT Crust setting and finished loaves are still too dark, I would have to say it's time for a replacement breadmaker. Nothing lasts forever my friend. Besides, it sounds like you got your money's worth anyway, right?

I've owned over 200 breadmaker myself so you can bet that what I'm saying is true. Sorry for the bad news friend.

That's a serious issue you have there. I recommend you take it to your local service center:

If you feel your dough has kneaded and risen enough, try pushing the stop button until it beeps. Then unplug and replug and select the bake stage and using the timer feature put enough time on the bake cycle to equal the bake time of your original whole wheat bake stage. That time should be on your page in the manual that shows the length of all the programs.

I have one of these and when you turn it on you just keep pressing the "menu" button until the little arrow is next to the type of bread or dough that you wish to make. It sounds as if it may be faulty.

You can't set a timer when you also set rapid bake - the two are not compatible.

If you set it to 'Bake' without the 'Rapid' setting, THEN you can set the timer.
