Looks like I found the answer to the problem of Skybox not dispensing. I replaced the sensor in the dispensing door and my Skybox now works great!
Part is available from partselect.com just look up your Skybox model number, mine was Skybox model MBV1976AAB. The diagram on the website should show you the exploded view of the door section of your Skybox. You are looking for partselect.com part number 901892 or on the exploded view it will be number 21. The Maytag part number is 11001182, board flipper sensor. My Skybox had been down for two years and now works again!

I just read another post on a different site from someone who said they were able to pay $160 for a refrigerator technician to come out and replace the compressor and install 2 additional fans to help prevent overheating. I'm going to look into this, otherwise off to the dump. Had ours for over 2.5 years and it just stopped cooling last week. Bunch of warm beer and sodas in there now...upsetting, but what do you expect when everything is made in China these days. Our country has let itself down for letting quality manufacturing give way to cheap labor.

I also have one of these vending machines. The problem Maytag had with these and the reason why they are discontinued is that it was not made with an automatic defroster. SO, ice litterally builds up on the entire motor in the back and then the buttons do not work. Here is an easy test. Unplug the machine for 24 hours and if there is ice on the motor it will melt off(to where I dont know!!). Try the buttons again and see if they work. Mine did. They also had to come out and replace one of the pieces inside because the ice broke it! Mine by the way does not work anymore because the other problem they have had with these is that the compressor goes bad!! Once THAT happens, its more expensive to fix than it's worth! Good luck! Maytag SUCKS!!!

before replacing parts. unplug it and from back and under neath get all the dust out, best to blow air in there to remove dust than plug it back in and leave it on number 3 setting for 6 to 8 hours than if cold you can adjust the settings.
