It has to do with the locking device used to lock door when put into cleaning cycle. However, my door is open, and I can't close it because the locking device is in the way, and I can't move it back into place. I can slide it left and right, but will not stay on left side.
If the heading you used is correct and this is a Maytag Kitchen Range, "F9" is a Door Latch Supervisory error, or a defective Electronic Range Control (ERC) board (this is the clock assembly board). Since you mentioned you are having difficulty with the door latch mechanism, I would attempt to repair or replace it first. The door latch costs around $50, while the ERC runs about $140-$150 @ repairclinic.com. Just type in your COMPLETE model number in the Search menu and there's a complete parts listing available with illustrations. They also have a service manual available (item# 893398) for about $30 that you can order to assist in repairs. Post back if you need further assistance, please. I hope this helps you.
Code F9-2 appears top door will open but bottom wont
