Dishwasher malfunction I have a Kenmore Ultra Wash Quiet Guard 3 dishwasher. One day, I found it with a blinking green ?clean? light. I went online to search for the manual, almost impossible to locate. Found a website where another using said to hit a 4 button sequence of ?heated dry? ?normal wash? ?heated dry? and normal wash. After this sequence, all lights went on and something that looked almost like a ?demo? sequence began (not sure now what that was). I hit ?cancel/drain? and it proceeded to do just that. However I still cannot achieve a full wash cycle without ending with the blinking green. I then tried cleaning out the filter. This involved removed the sprayer on the bottom etc, there was nothing whatsoever in the filter, nor beneath it. Actually I regularly run dishwasher cleaners and I rinse off all ?chunks? of food before placing in dishwasher. I then tried a quick rinse cycle, and opened the door after about 5-10 min in, there was water at the bottom, and the heating coil was very hot. It seems as though the water is filling, the heating coil is working and the water is draining fine as well (and I do hear the water going down the drain in the sink next to it. My suspicion is that a sensor and/or the pump are shot. Any suggestions at all would be grateful. I?m thinking if I have to purchase a new one, I?ll have to do it this weekend or in 3 weeks to take advantage of the Mother?s Day or Memorial Day sales. ****I finally found the manual online in between writing this, and the error indicates that the washer has malfunctioned and to get service**** THANKS!!!

Hi,

The flashing light indicates that the control did not sense a 3 degree temperature rise with an 8 minute test. There are many reasons this could happen with a working heater. I put together a page that shows the reasons and you might be able to do about it and again how to reset the control so you can use it. Depending on how deep you want to dig into the issue or get a new one is up to you. I would weigh in how much you like the current machine overall against how much a new trouble free unit might be. The best one out there today in my book by far is the KitchenAid,

What does it mean when my clean light blinks but I cannot cancel or reset it

Ah, the famous (or infamous) Clean-light blinking problem. Watch that blinking light.... Does it blink 7 times, pauses, and repeats? Or does it blink 3 times (or some other number). The most common problem is 7 blinks which means "water not heating error". This could be caused by a bad heating element, a bad thermal cutoff, a bad controller.

Why is my kenmore ultra wash quiet guard blinking clean?

You can go to Kenmore's website, list your machine model and the

those machines every 400 hours. Hope this helps

Loud Buzzing Sound from Dishwasher

have you ever seen green led "Clean" light flashing? before or about the same time the buzzing sound started? and if so that would indicate that the control senses a fault in the temperature rise during the heating cycle and that the electronic control could be reset by initiating a service diagnostic cycle.(which is what you were trying to do) pls reread your manual there are times during that sequence that some buttons have to be pushed at the same time and within a certain amount of time..possible that your machine also has a bad timer which would give you a buzzing noise..if thats the case I would recommend replacing the cpu or control board..or the machin all together..The Kenmore Ultra Wash Quiet Guard name is sears but whirpool has the contract to produce all "kenmore products.hope that helps.

Green blinking light

If you don't have the manual for your dishwasher to find out why the green light blinks, try to get the model number off your dishwasher from the inside edge and go online to find a website that provides online manuals.

The IRONY of my Quiet Guard!! SO LOUD!!!!

Yes the wash arm can be removed to get to the sump area. Take the model number for your dishwasher and enter it into a site like partselect.com. There you can get a blown up diagram of the components that need to be removed to get to the cause of the grind noise. Usually a seed or some other hard object has found its way down there.

Kenmore ultra wash quiet guard 3 dishwasher problem

call sears, 1-800-4MY-HOME. They have a trouble-shooting department that will get rid of this problem. It is caused by water temperature being wrong at the start of the cycle.... blah, blah, blah. The representative will tell you to push a certain set of buttons in a certain order and that unlocks the dishwasher.

Sorry I don't know the sequence

Green clean light keeps blinking

HI, Same thing happened to me today and Sears more than willing to charge me 200.00 for a 1 year service agreement. I found the answer on askmehelpdesk.com and the answer is: To reset a Kenmore Ultra Wash elite series dishwasher (stuck on clean) simply push heated/dry then normal wash and do the same thing again. Panel will reset itself and it hopefully will run normally again. Mine did and I am rejoicing! Julie

Kenmore Ultra Wash Quiet Guard 3 problem

Thanks Munkee,
I started having this problem, blinking green light,  three days ago with my Kenmore QG3 and finally was tired of not being able to use my dishwasher. I've had it for three years with no problems until 3 days ago. You solution, use of commands, really helped and no money wasted on tech assistance. Thanks again!!

Clean light keeps blinking and I can't start a new cycle

Puppa, clear the fault by pressing the keys in this order: high temp scrb--air dry--high temp scrub--air dry. Or, depending on your model..Sani rinse--air dry--sani rinse--air dry. The dishwasher will enter the service mode. Let it do it's thing or advance it through it by pressing the start key. The fault came from the board not sensing a rise in the water temp. Make sure to run the hot water before starting the dishwasher. The heating element runs through the nuetral side of the door switch so make sure the d/w is level and the door switches are all making. The element itself could be at fault. Catriver...post back
