You shouldn't have a problem because it is jail-broken. If the ipod touch fails to stay connected the whole time try:
1.Keeping it extremely still during sync.
2.Restore ipod and try again.
If it does stay connected you likely don't have music or videos set to sync.
Read this article to understand more about syncing your ipod touch: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1386
Instructions:

1. Open iTunes on your computer.
2. Plug the iPod USB connector into a USB port. Plug the other end of the connector into the bottom of the iPod Touch.
3. Look for the iPod Touch to show up in the Devices column in the middle left corner of the iTunes program screen. Once it does, you have two options. You can have all the songs/music from your personal music library/file sync with the iPod Touch every time you plugged into the computer, or you can create a playlists and manually selecting them for syncing.
4. Click on the iPod Touch symbol in the Devices column once you've decided which method of music management is best and suits your preference. A screen will pop up, giving you the summary of information about your iPod. Click on the options you want, then proceed to the bookmarked section labeled "Music" in the upper middle section of the page.
5. Click the "Sync" button in the bottom right corner of the screen. When the music has finished its sync process, a message at the top will appear "iPod Touch sync is complete. OK to disconnect.
THANKS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR :)
Open iTunes (without iPod connected). Create a new playlist and copy songs you want on your iPod into that list. Next connect your iPod. Once iTunes recognizes your iPod then go to the music tab and click on 'sync playlist only' and chose the new playlist that you created. Click sync. Only the songs in your new playlist should be copied to your iPod.
iPods connect to your computer via iTunes. You can download iTunes here free: http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ All the music files currently in your Windows Media Player can all be transferred into iTunes, so no worries about losing your music.
To get songs to sync from itunes, with itunes open and ipod connected click on name of your ipod on left side. When screen comes up showing your ipod click on music at top then put check in box to sync music, choose what to sync, click sync.
ipods are only designed for itunes so windows shouldn't recognise media player, any way, the new software for ipod touches is greater, meaning your computer/windows media player wont recognise it, only itunes will.
