My Dell Demension Desktop B110 Model has a fan bellow the power supply fan motor. That so called fan that I'm speaking of so happens to cool the processor, through a funnel type housing that goes around the cooling fan,on the inside of the desktop housing case. The fan was made by the Minebea Co, LTD. NMB D1598 are in the middle of the top of the fan on a sticker. How can I purchase a new fan, so that my desktop will be functional again. It was runnig windows xp. I wanna put a new fan, and install Windows 7 on it. If anyone knows how I can purchase a fan, please feel free to send me an e-mail @ [email protected] .

That fan is a standard 12volt muffin fan. You just need to go to any computer shop or electronics store and they will have a generic replacement that will fit. The only thing you need to watch for is that the replacement is as thick. If it is too thick (unlikly) the duct will hit and the case won't close. Too thinand the fan will pull in hot air from the case as well as cool air. There is only one connection for power. And there will be 4 screws. Replacement cost should be around $4-$10

There will be a sticker on the fan itself,
it starts "CNxx-xxxxx-",
the italicised x's above denote a 5-digit part number. call dell and ask for a fan, quote the part number and but one.
failing that most local computer repair shops can change the fan motor/blade unit and fit it into the original housing.

My dell dimension b110 quit working one day and just flashed an amber colored light. I was told I need to replace the power supply. Is any 400W 20+4-pin ATX PSU w/SATA compatible?

Yes, just make sure it's ATX (not ATX mini etc but you'd see from the connector anyway) has the right motherboard connector and all other connectors. Also I'd go for a 450W as if your 400w died it may have been from a power surge that a 450W or higher would handle better.

Dell Dimension B110 will not power on when front button is pushed. Plugged it into another outlet without using power strip....still didn't start...purchased New power supply and installed still nothing...

check the bezel/power button
try to open the tower but you have to make sure that its unplugged/ after unplugging the power cable press the power button for about 5 secs to drain the flea power then check the power button maybe its broken or the cable connected to the power button to the main board is damaged or loose.

It will not start even after I replaced the power

Before anything else, open your case and make sure all power and data cables going to motherboard, disk drives, etc are firmly seated, and remove and re-install memory sticks in the same locations. Sometimes temperature changes inside the PC can cause these connections to loosen. If that doesn't fix it, do you hear the noise of the cooling fans coming on? If you do, check your monitor for a green light. If you get a green light on the monitor and fans are powered up and running and you get nothing else it could be a hard drive issue. Try booting from CD in that case. If fans come on briefly and then shut off, or fans stay on and you have no green monitor light, this could indicate an issue with your processor or motherboard.

Dell b110 when I try to turn it on the light blinks consistently yellow

Try a different power supply in the computer if you can. Get a known working one cause its possible that your current power supply isn't putting out the right voltages.

If you try another power supply and you still keep getting the blinking yellow light then that means the motherboard is bad.

Dell Demension C521. Dead! Nothing! Even the little led light on the motherboard.

This is most likely caused by a power supply failure. If you have or know someone who has another power supply you could use for testing thats where you'll want to start.

Hope this helps.

No power to Dell demension 5100 desktop

If there is no activity whatsoever when you press the power button on than you have likely blown the internal power supply fuse. This will need a technician to repair.
