Question about Brother MFC-8440 All-In-One Laser Printer

BROTHER MFC-8440, shows Paper Jam, however all the paper has been removed. We have shut & restarted the printer, restarted the computer. Cleaned the printer, readjusted the paper tray etc. It continues to show: PAPER JAM and there is absolutely no paper jammed.

Nothing to do, just shut off the printer and wait for 5 min. Then remove the tray and adjust the tray according to paper size and then try to print.

I did just that, then tried to print but to no avail!

I did the same way repeatedly more than 10x but message paper jam still prompt. I even shut off power for 30 minutes and repeat the above steps.

I have a Brother MFC 8440..the paper has vertical black lines

Try changing the toner, if it's generic that's your problem, and if it's either an old brother drum or a generic you may need a new one. There is also a glass to clean, it's right above where the drum sits inside, 1/2 inch wide across the top. Wipe with a dry cloth.

Try adjusting your paper tray. If you have the tray that adjusts from legal to letter it sometimes gets wiggled to some place inbetween. Just push it back into the letter position.

does it ever reset by opening and closing front door? if not, there could be paper stuck in fusing area behind rear door. open and inspect. if you see no paper, pull drum unit out and locate open slot in the bottom, center of drum unit. could be a small scrap of paper in that slot.

Paper Jam

sometimes the paper gets jam internally if the small piece of paper is just not letting the gears to move fluently this problem cad occur.for resolving this the whole printer needs to be opened and cleaned part by part.
but sometimes unplugging the printer from the main power outlet for sometime the replugging it again resolves the problem.

Hello, I have Brother printer MFC 8440.I keep getting mesaage that i have paper jam. I checked all places and there is no paper jam.How can I fix that problem?

It's possible there is still a very small scrap of paper left. If you have a can of air blow it in and try to dislodge it. If that doesn't work try to unplug it wait a minute and plug back it.

Have you checked the back paper door?, the paper tray?, and the drum/toner unit? If a paper was torn out of the machine, you may not be able to see the piece that is still triggering the jam signal. You can also pull down the paper guide around the orange fuser roller through the back door by pulling it gently to the left.

u need to remove the fuser and remove the paper in it, put fuser back in the reverse

Paper jam on my brother mfc 8440

It is possible that a small piece of paper is stuck in the paper path above the primary feed roller. It will most likely need to be disassembled.

Brother mfc 8440

Printer thinks its out of paper when its not. Displays messsage "Check Paper - Reload Paper." Have emptied and replaced paper stack several times. No visible jam. Have shut down and restarted. Still not fixed.
