Follow directions in the manual to access the setup program built in to the router. This is usually done by using your web browser and going to an address like http://192.168.1.1 or whatever adress works with your router. After logging to the router, complete the Wireless setup. I prefer the WPA=PSK[TKIP] as it is more user-friendly on passwords. After this process is complete, you will need to use wnatever passphrase you choose to gain access to your router. You will need login info from your Owners Manual to get to the router's Admin program.

I cannot connect to my belkin connect n150 router after enabling it as an access point. Green light shows up on router and wireless network shows up but no connection when clicked. I cant connect via

Pretty sure you have to have at least one router in gateway mode to connect to the internet. An AP allows wireless devices to connect to a wired segment. The same as a router in gateway mode. AP mode has the benefit of extending a networks wireless range. If this is your only device leave it in gateway mode.

Belkin 54 Wireless Internet Connection Problems

Hello,

If wireless adapter on the laptop is fairly old, you may need to update the drivers for the wireless adapter. Some older wireless adapters are not capable of properly communicating with WPA devices. Typically a driver update of the laptop resolves the issue. If not, try another wifi adapter and verify it is not the OS or laptop itself.

Good Luck.

F5D7231-4 stopped connecting to Internet via downstream router

Why did you change it from dynamic to static? My suggestion would be to put it back to dynamic and let it grab a good ip address from the gateway. The other option is to contact whoever managed the network at your apartment and see what they will charge you for a static IP address.

Having problems connecting a lap top computer to the internet.

Connect the router directly via lan to your computer.
goto setup of the router: usuallly via the ip-adress of your router (see manual, usually: 192.168. ***.*)
Now look at the network security-settings .

Cannot connect my Mac Pro to the internet via my Belkin wireless

With the router powered on, use a small thin object to press and hold the reset button for exactly seven seconds. The router lights will flash and this will restore the router to factory default. Connect your computer to one of the routers lan ports with an etherent cable. Open your web browser and navigate to 192.168.2.1. This should show the router status page with the default settings.

This will make the router unsecured again, so be sure to go back into setup and reset your Wireless security. I suggest using WEP authentication, and using a 10 digit ph # for your key (that way its easy to remember).

Want to block router so others cant use it

the best way to secure you wireless connection is add authentication on your wireless connection,

if you dont know how to set it up you can call your router vendor support number and ask then to help you set up your secured wireless connection.
