Sony Trinitron 36" TV

I turn the power on and get no visual but there is audio. The STAND BY/ TIMER light flashes.

How many flashes is it flashing. usually when you have audio but no video its a vertical deflection problem. Try resoldering the vertical output IC to see if that helps.

Seven blinks - High voltage shutdown. The high voltage has exceeded 33k and the unit goes immediately into safety shutdown. Check power supply regulation and horizontal circuits.
