Remote not working on Marantz 63cd. Tried

Remote not working on Marantz 63cd with Marantz CD-67 SE CD player (compatible). Tried changing remotes (and batteries) but no joy. Have recently moved CD player but can't believe that should have caused the problem. CD player plays fine otherwise.

Check the back of your marantz player, some old marantz products have a buttom at the back saying system or intermal, if it is on the system side, the remote will never works.

Thanks so much for this suggestion! The remote control for my Marantz CD-67SE stopped working about 2 years ago. I didn't know whether it was the remote control not working or the sensor in the CD player but I never got round to sorting out the problem. This switch on the back of the player must have accidentally got knocked to the 'External' setting from the correct 'Internal' setting (while dusting probably)! The remote is now working again... Oh joy!

Thank you so much for this wonderfull idea... my remote started working when i changed the button in the back of the player from internal to External. Once again thank you .

Can you operate a marantz cd redorder without remote control?

Any CD recorder should be operational without a remote BUT there may be some menu items that might not be accessible. It strikes me as a poor design when you are required to use a remote to operate a device for basic functions.

Hi I have a marantz cd63 cdplayer can I turn down the output volume on the machine as I have no remote due to a big ******* sitting on it and I cannot find my users manual thanks email...

Adjustable volume on a sound source is actually rare but not unheard of. Most devices output at the maximum volume and rely on external receivers or preamps to deal with the volume control so it's not a common feature and yet we all live without it.

I had one once and the only time I ever used it was to fade out while recording.

The RC-63CD remote is available here for $58

What format audio files play on Marantz cd67? I've tried .m4a, .aiff and .mp3. The .mp3s are in a folder - might that make a difference?

Replace with a Philips VAM1202 Laser pick-up.
This is a revised version of the CDM12.1 and has a very good reliability
record.
If you replace with another CDM12.1, there's no telling when this
will also pack up as these have a very high failure rate.

Marantz cd67se mk 2 Door does not open when button pressed

i had the same problem on a marantz cd-63 which is virtually identical
and it turned out to be a faulty button on the control PCB.
i replaced it with one out of a scrap PCB and all worked as it should.

hope this helps.

Won't recognise cd

A few possible causes:

- dirty or oxydized power switch contacts
- dirty laser pickup lens
- faulty laser emitter
- faulty laser pickup sensor
- dirty or oxydized contacts on any connectors, including flat foil cables
- oxydized brushes and commutator on spindle and/or slide motor
- dirty or oxydized contacts on the door switches
- faulty power supply (filter capacitors, voltage regulators)
- faulty motor driver IC

Could ba any of the above causes or a combination thereof.

Hope you can locate the actual fault.

I have a marantz cd 67 se cd player.it doesn't always play cd's.it appears that it fails to recognise there is a cd in the cd drawer. also when it does actually play it often stops playing part way through...

Hi dr dray
Your player has a CDM12.1 laser transport fitted to it. They suffer a couple of problems that can be fixed that stop em from working so well. If you are handy with a screwdriver, then I can talk you through it.
