I own a Panasonic MC-E4051. It would be ?Perfect? BUT?~ although the hose has fantastic suction when I use my vacuum in the upright position it has very little suction! What am I (not) doing?

I'm not sure I understand what you are asking. The hose is not designed to pull the vac but if you pull and stretch the hose out and do something to restrict the airflow into the wand or hose it can pull the vacuum towards you or tip it over. It will only do this when the hose is stretched out because the suction is trying to pull the hose back to the vacuum but if it can't it will pull the vacuum towards the hose.
There are a few potential solutions you should try. You can check the hose and canister to make sure nothing is lodged in them. If nothing is there and it does not fix the problem, your issue could be related to your brush-roll. Check your brush-roll to make sure that nothing is interfering with it. If that does not solve the issue, the next area that should be checked is your vacuums filters. Filters should be replaced every 3 to 6 months for optimal performance.

The brush on this model is controlled by the on/carpet/floor switch and will only work in the carpet position. If the suction motor is running then it could be the roller brush motor, but it's more likely to be the microswitch which stops the brush motor when the handle is returned to the upright position.
Hi there. In Panasonic vacuums, there is a thermostat protection on the motor. It will automatically shut off the motor if there is no airflow through the motor. This is typically caused by a clogged hose. Typically, if your dust container is that full, there could be backup in the hose. Or the dust container being too full could also or otherwise be the problem. Check your hose for blockage, let the machine cool off, it should start up again
disconnect the hose where it goes into the base and see if you have suction there.if you don't then your intake hose is clogged.thats the hose that your long stretch hose connects to.take a coat hanger and bend the tip so the end is rounded.work it down into the intake hose at the bottom and try to push the clog out through the bottom.make sure your filters are clean and the bag isn't full. please leave feedback
HI
If the cleaner is loosing suction make sure to check all inspection tubes and the dirt channel hoses after the spinning brush. Also check the main hose for any clogging. One of the worst faults of this model is clogging hoses. Hope that helps you.
Check the sole plate where the roller brush is. There may be an obstruction leading from the sole plate to the main dirt channel. Usually on many Panasonic uprights the main dirt channel is a removable bent plastic tube before it meets the bottom of the hose. Check to see if this isn't obstructed. ALso check your filters on the vacuum as sometimes a blocked filter means a lack of suction.
Probably not the motor protector, its function is shut off the motor if it overheats. Most likely you have a clog or partial clog in the inlet down by the brush roll, or it is in the hose. But if the motor is running, and suction is low, with no clogs, then maybe the motor is running at a slower speed and will have to be replaced.
If you turn the vacuum over, you will see a hose by the brushroll. I think your problem is that it's stopped up right there. Take off the brushroll and make sure that the hose isn't stopped up. The port at the back that makes a hissing sound is to indicate that it's stopped up somewhere. Also, when you replace your attachment hose back onto the machine, does the motor change sound?? That's also another indication that your machine is stopped up. Don't lose hope for the Panasonic, they're great machines. If you still need help, you may call us at 1-866-509-1952. Thanks.
