My Garmin Nuvi 250w

The keyboard on my Nuvi 250w looks like the following:
ABCDDFF
HblankspaceJKLMN
OblankspaceQBSblankspaceU
blankspaceWblankspaceIZ

instead of the normal (A-Z)

Can someone please help!

    i'm having problems with my keyboard as well. the "M" key is missing and instead there are 2 "E" on my keyboard.

    same problem, garbled alphabet, missing letters, repeated letters in some cases.. impossible to type in any addresses

How can i get updates downloaded onto my garmin nuvi 200 series,i have it connected to pc but nothing is downloading,new roads,places,construction ect.

I called Garmin and they gave me a simple procedure to fix this problem. Turn the nuvi off. Plug the nuvi into a mini-usb cable connected to your PC. Wait until the nuvi screen displays a picture a nuvi connected to a PC. Disconnect the nuvi and it's fixed.

It lasted a few months before the keyboard started losing letters again. I'm going to call again and see if I can't get a permanant solution.

Mine looks very similar... it is getting worse all the time. I can barely type any address in.

Where may I update my garmin nuvi 250w for free?
Garmin offers two kinds of updates on its website: software updates are free. Map updates are not. You'll need a USB cable to connect the Garmin to your computer. Then go to http://www.garmin.com
On the web site, first register your product. Then look for "Support" and follow their instructions for updating your software. After you've done that, look for "Maps" on the menu at the top of the screen. You can either purchase updates one at a time, or buy a lifetime (of your device) subscription. By the way, maps are huge files, so plan on it taking several hours to update your maps even with a fast internet connection.

I dont know how to update new maps to my gps
Hello.
You can go to mygarmin.com or garmin.com . You have to register. It is for FREE. Then,you can update your GPS. You can also download maps by just following the screen instructions.
You can also find all the software/drivers you need there.
