Apparently I need to replace the light engine on my Infocus 61MD10 DLP TV as there is a large black smudge/shadow on the top 1/3 of the screen. I can get a new light engine but need alignment instructions for it. They don't come with the new engine.

Where could I get the plastic lens for my infocus 61md10

Remove the little plastic lens and throw it away. There is no replacement available anyway. Reassemble the tv and it should work fine. Mine has been good for quite a while now.

Dlp 61md10 Has a black screen i have sound but no picture

The same thing just happened to me today. I finally disconnected the power cord from my 61md10 for a few minutes, then plugged it back in and turned it on. Not sure how this fixed it, but when I changed the input back to HDMI, the black screen was gone and I was getting a hi def picture again.

How can i fix the brightnees in my 61md10

there is a menu setting for best pix or longer lamp life.
Also, turn up brightness of picture settings(different menu)
Also use daylight setting, vibrant, (different menu).
Bulbs dim over time and dust can accumulate on projector lens, mirrors and (not so much on mine) back of screen.
New lamps tend to melt a plastic lens in light engine, a dark shadow may start to appear upper left or center. this started to happen to me with new bulb, (Ebay O.E.M. supposedly $114). I switched back to original lamp hopefully to slow the burn till I can tacklle a repair. Take a look at this website. Hope that helps.

My dlp tv has a shadow about 6'' wide and full ht of tv

Hello: The problem is that a small mirror on the light tunnel has fell off causing a shadow in the picture,. In the past the only way to repair this problem was to replace the entire Optics Engine. But Samsung decided it was replacing entirely to many light engines so they decided to allow and train technicians on how to do it. It involves removing the color wheel and behind it is the light tunnel where light from the lamp shines on to a maybe 1 1/4 inch small block with three mirrors on all sides, your problem is that one of these mirrors has come loose from its side, causing a shadow with the pic still in the background. So if you call a technician to come, if he has'nt had the training from samsung on how to do the procedure then he will want to replace the entire optics engine which is the expensive way of doing it.
So when calling as if they know how to replace light tunnel. There are some adjustments that also needs to be done once it's replaced. To verify what i am saying go to this site to find out more. http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=758625

Call if you need more info will be glad to help..

There is a shadow in the upper left corner of the screen

someone is going to have to look inside by either removing the rear upper part of the set or removing the entire front screen---neither is easy to do. But considering your trouble I would not be surprised if the mirror is cracked---the entire front screens would have to be removed to replace the mirror--special mirror and special handling--I have seen several break when someone is not careful putting in.

61md10 front panel controls lit uo, but the TV does not respond

With a non responsive remote that would be inpossiable you need to replace the control board inside around $100 bucks then you can have a good tv again but to get to the service menu your controll has to be working.

This is an ATC323H Chassis. The DM module could be the problem. Here is a factory Troubleshooting guide to confirm the correct operation of all of the Light Engine circuits. Be careful on this one because there is 20,000 volts present to fire the Lamp. You should call a good TV Tech in my opinion.
