You would need to remove it from the wall, using the installation instructions here, review the safety information here, then remove the outer cover and discharge the high voltage capacitor.

Then you can swap the magnetron.

Error code F2

Per the tech sheets (page 8), "F2" error code means "Keyboard failure". Recommended by the manufacturer to replace the touch panel first and, if it would not solve the problem, then the control board has to be replaced too. Not the best recommendation but we have to follow it.

- The part number for the touch panel (aka a membrane switch) is AP3130765

- The part number for the control board AP3130764

Kitchen aid microwave model# khms 147 hss-1 runs but doesnt heat

Your problem is your mag tube (Magnatron) you can go to and your part number is PS2352604. Their price is $123.44. I work on micro waves myself and have found that if one isn't a built in over the stove like yours, they are not worth repairing because you can buy one cheaper. If this unit is not real old and you can replace this parts yourself it might be worth fixing bit if you are going to have it repaired, it might be cheaper to replace it. Good luck.

P.S. If you open this unit up. Make sure you bleed the capacitor off, this is one that will knock the _ _ _ out of you if you ground it by touching it. Bleed it by using screw driver to short capacitor to ground or case.

it sound to me as if the high voltage diode is shorted. It could be inside the capacitor or out board the cap. The capactor could also be short but this is a rarity. Diodes are a cheep item . repace it and if it don't work its probably the magnatro. good luck.

Power surge

The high-voltage transformer being overloaded by something shorting it out. Either the magnatron or the high-voltage capacitor and diode. Replace the capacitor and diode then if still not working, replace the magnatron. The magnatron is only affordable to do it yourself - buy the part on EBAY - lookup "universal magnatron"
Hope ya fix it!
