These blinks of LEDs are fault indications. If you wish to get more details about these blinking codes, check this link. The details are there. It is very difficult to include all those details in tables here by this window.
Also, has it been harder and harder to at turn on get the set to come on but at first once it came on it worked until you reached a point where you could not get it on?????
Seems like your set now has a poltergeist in it after all these years. If set turns on an doff by itself and works erratically there could be a power supply issue since it supplies the juice for the various areas to do their thing. If PS is messing up, so will other sections of your set.
From your description the flyback transformer has failed causing the high voltage to load down, if the TV is 10 years old or more, consideration should be given investing in a new set.
Hey John, I am experiencing a very similar problem. If I unplug the TV when it is on (green light) and plug it back in. It begins green, and clicks to red. I immediately turn the TV back on with the remote. Most of the time it seems to struggle for several seconds, sometimes with a little scratchy audio popping in and out. It will then go from green to red on the TV and if I try to turn it back on it will go green for a few seconds and back to red but without any click coming from the TV. No matter how many times I try after that, no TV. If, on the other hand, I unplug while green, plug it back in and with the remote turn it back on after it has come up green and then clicked to red, it will come on. It might take thee or five times but at least it comes on... If you hear of a real solution, please let me know ([email protected]) in the meantime, best of luck.
I have two RCA HD52W59 TV's. I have had one for 3 years and one 4 years. The one I have had for 4 years is giving me the problem. Last week the tv turned off while watching it. It wouldnt come right back on. 10 minutes later we tried and it worked fine. the other night the kids were watching and it turned off and smelled like something burning. I tried turning it right back on and got no power at all. I tried to turn it on two days later and it made a buzzing noise and the green light went out. Never did get a picture, no powering up on the screen. Any ideas? Don't want to spend alot of money. Really loved the TV hope it isnt junk now. Better yet I hope the same thing doesnt happen to the other one I have.
Hi i have a pilips 42" plasma tv (42PF5320/79) i can hear clicking the green light is on and the tv will go into stand by if i press the power button and the red light also comes on .I have turned it on and off and it works now nothing just the light on the front as if its working looking at the back through the slots two green lights come on then the tv clicks and they turn off, thanks
It does sound like a power supply problem but that can be misleading because a problem somewhere else in the TV can be "holding down" the power supply. This can usually be determined by using some isolation techniques.
