You either have a faulty backlight or one or more of the inverter transformers is bad,
a close inspection of the picture when on will show a bad tube as it will be lighter or darker than the rest,transformers may be hot to the touch

Try turning off and unplugging the TV for 24 hours. It could also be a power supply issue. In that case you should get it fixed or replaced.

) that one or more of the units DC voltage sources on the "switch-mode-power-supply has failed and is now in partial shutdown mode. Yes, the unit still has operating voltage source for the digital, tuner, and audio circuits. You may or may not see an image on the screen if you hear audio and shine a very bright flashlight 1 inch from the lcd panel. You should pay a visit to YOUTUBE (just FYI) to check-out repair video clips of LCD monitors and LCD tv's. Your unit (FYI) is classed as BLACK SCREEN of DEATH. i believe because this is a commercial television. look at the power cord -- three prongs - right?
I had to get a universal remote and program the buttons manually from the original remote to get it to work.

lets see, 3100 has no digital out, so you need analog inputs for the audio. Best picture with the 3100, use S-video. Digital input for the DVD sound and S-video in for picture. OOPS....does your TV have a S-Video input ?. If not then you have to use the RCA standard video type connector, as this particular denon doesnt do up or down conversion to or from S-video to old style RCA.

PS.....the HD bell wont do you any good with this receiver nbecause it doesnt have component video inputs. Enjoy Bells' superior picture with regular TV . Its way better than cable. Rob

Programming an Expressvu remote control can be frustrating. There are two basic ways of doing in it. The first one involves knowing both your TV brand name and also knowing the proper code to input in your remote. The second method is doing an automatic search. The following is a step by step procedure in how to program your dish network or Expressvu remote.

1)Make sure your TV and Satellite Receiver is ON.
2)Press and hold TV button until all lights on the side of it flashes. The TV button is the second button on the Top left hand side corner of the remote control.
3) Release that button, then press & release RED Button. You will notice TV button is stays on. If, it doesn't stay ON, you must repeat step 2 & 3. Otherwise, your batteries are low, you MUST change then.
4)Press and release the UP Arrow Key on the remote until TV turns off. Notice the UP arrow key button is the button below the volume keys (Stop button for VCR.)
5)Make sure you are aiming remote control to TV while pressing and releasing UP arrow key button. When you find the right code, the TV will turn OFF.
6) Immediately after, TV turns off, press # key.
