Try one of these soultions. If you try these suggestions and it still doesn't work correctly, let me know and I will offer some different ideas. With this brand of pool cleaners, troubleshooting is usually pretty simple.

1. You might have an improper water flow that is causing your trajectory to falter. To remedy this, check your water flow with a flow gauge and adjust as necessary. If you have too little or too much pressure, you cleaner will not move correctly.
2. Look for a blockage in the navigator throat. If you see one, remove it. A blockage on one side could cause the cleaner to only turn in one direction.
3. Check for worn shoes and wings. Replace if necessary.
4. Check and clean the rear screen.
5. Check to make sure that the gears are clear and they they rotate smoothly in both directions.
6. Clean, repair, or replace the gear box.
7. Check turbine and spindle gear assembly, as well as all connections, and make adjustments as necessary.

If you open all the way to get the gear box, trying blowing in the opening of the gear box. You should hear the gears spinning. If they are not spinning, blow few times to see if it clears anything that might be blocking them. It did fix my navigator problem which was only turning left.

Likely a bad or stuck gear box. It can be cleaned, but probably easier to replace the gear box. Gearbox is responsible for turning of the cleaner.

Removal of hose from radiator to transmission navigator 2003

They come out the front. Twist and turn as necessary. Try to remember how the come out. do not cut them. You will never know how to get them in. Some time you have to bend the lines a bit to get the out and in. Bend them back to fit the connections.

Hoses are getting all twisted up. there is no clog and the hoses are stored in a straight line. Is the neck at the top of the vacuum not turning? if so, what causes this?

look on line for a pool hose swivel. your hose should be 1 1/2 as a norm . they don't know what a swivel is at all the pool stores I stopped at. should be able to improvise I stretched my hose out on the bricks for 2 days in the florida heat. it seems to have helped. but still look for the swivel connector, cut into hose about 3 ft. at either end you chose to mount the swivel. good luck. amf

New pool cleaner , pool hose just keeps twisting up have laid in sun, but as soon as connected back up it twists

Is the pool cleaners hose actually twisting in the pool or before you put it in? If it is twisting outside of the pool, it might still straighten out when you put it in the water. It it is twisting in the water, you might need to add some additional hose lengths to help it operate smoothly.

Navigator Pool Cleaner: When I run my hayward cleaner the hose twists up a...

You have either a bad or stuck gear box or a loose or damaged a frame bearing. The gear box controls turning and the a frame controls propulsion, but one bad bearing will cause the cleaner to move more in one direction, causing the hose to coil. You can hold the cleaner under the water by the top of the hose, and it should turn in all directions within a few minutes. If it doesn't, then it is the gearbox. If it does, then likely a problem with the a frames.

you need to install a turbine kit with "a" frames. sounds like your bearings are bad either on the turbine, "a " frames, or both. A set of shoes would be a good idea as well.

I have exactly the same problem-Navigator only turns to the left

it sounds like it needs a turbine kit with a-frames, it's a common problem with this cleaner. you can expect to install a turbine kit every other season if not sooner. If the wings and shoes are good, check the bearings both on the turbine and the a-frames. If they're good, check steering valve. hope this helps...

Hi my navigator only turns to the left and after an hour or so the hose is all twisted up and it cant move

This is probally in the gear box in the top of the unit. Most pool shops will rebuuild the cleaner for you for just the price of the parts or a small shop fee. They can check for any other problems at the same time.

Air ride......

Hi, sounds like your air solenoid switch located on top of the air bag where the air line connects to on top of the bag. It is almost impossible to see this switch without removing the air bag because of it's location. If there is air in the bag now, the only way to release enough air to get the solenoid out is to find a Ford STARR reader. This tool is the easiest way. No tool, with the rear frame raised (not axle) and air suspension switch "off", take a long thin flat head screwdriver, with car raised and wheel off ground, look dead center on top of tire on the other side of the frame rail that curves over the axle, you will see a circular (probably rusted) half circle far in the back, take the screwdriver and pry under this until the half ring is off. Next, go under axle, look up following the top of the airbag. Take your hand and "twist" the round solenoid connecting to the top of the air bag. When you twist it and pull, the air will release all at once. Disconnect the wire at the terminal, and disconnect the air line by pushing on the small orange colored ring down while pulling the air line at the same time. Install air line to new solenoid by pushing the air line into the orange ring then lightly pull back and it will lock. Connect the terminal wire, push and twist into air bag and place new half ring clip onto solenoid, it will snap into place when installed correctly. Don't forget the clip, the solenoid could slip out from vibrations if not clipped securely. Lower car to where the tires are touching the ground and a few inches lower, but don't release the jack yet. Turn air suspension switch "on" and start car. Let the air bag fill up until the pump stops. Repeat by turning car off, then on again after 5 minutes in between. Lower car a few more inches and repeat until jack can be removed and air bag is filled.

Navigator hose cntinues to twist

I would recommend replacing the gearbox. That's what controls the turning so, if it's not turning correctly, that's the cause. It could also be the hoses. You could change the order of the hoses and that might help.
