Camera problems I have a problem. When i put it on to the CAMERA setting it only shows black and sometimes stripes show and scroll down the screen. This is a real problem. Can you help me because I need my camera for my project and I am running out of time

I can't think of black stripes that should be on a monitor. Like a grid in your viewfinder. The stripes should not be there. Is your camera still under waranty? (in europe we have 2 years with Nikon). Then I should contact Nikon and ask they can help you with this "problem" When you contact Nikon, please tell them when you have the stripes and when you don't have them. I assume you don't see stripes in the menu or when viewing pictures.
I must tell you, personaly I never use live view, but I just checked on my more than 2 years old Nikon and there were no black stripes on the screen.

Showing pictures with litte stripes is a normal condition. "Much whitter than usual" needs to change the settings. Did you control the posing tool?

May be posing is above 0.
Also what is ISO number. Change it to Auto or below 400.

In order to turn on Live View, first put the camera in one of the Creative Zone modes (i.e. P, Tv, Av, M or A-DEP). Then press the menu button, and scroll to the second settings menu (the second wrench-symbol), then scroll down to "Live View function settings" and press the SET-button. Then scroll to "Live view shoot", press SET, scroll to "Enable", and press set again. Close the menu by pressing the menu button twice.
Now you can turn on and off the live view on the LCD by pressing the SET-button.

Try this,

Before plugging into USB cord go into menu on the camera. Then scroll down to setup press, then scroll down to USB mode. Press OKAY, then click on PTP and OKAY button. Now exit out by pressing menu button until back to the LIVE CAMERA phase.

Now plug in USB, CONNECT TO COMPUTER & should read PROCESSING...
Wait a few minutes (camera is very slow). Watch computer screen as a small bos should pop up which reads

AUTO PLAY now scroll down to
DEVICE OPTIONS - IMPORT PICTURES USING WINDOWS
Click on this

Now photo's should start downloading

Is the camera set for viewfinder mode?

Your camera has the know issue of Stuck shutter, whichhappens after some time (weeks or months) thata camera is notused.

Unfortunately the repair of it requires a complete disassembly of the camera, including the lens, fix it, and then put back together everything.

Definitely requires th skills, tools and experience to do it, so it's recommended that a professional camera repair center is performing this type of repair.
