Can I change my windows 7 computer to XP with an XP disk

yes --
But you will loose all of your files and folders when you format the hard dive to install win xp
you cannot run 2 operating systems on the one hard drive unless the hard drive is partitioned ( in effect having 2 hard drives on the one disc) as it causes massive conflicts in operation
Why any one would install an out dated , unsupported operating system like win xp in place of win 7 beats me
of course if you insist in doing it you could always install and extra hard drive in the computer and run it as an extra hard drive and install the win xp on it and still retain all of your files and folders

I HAVE A COMPAQ ARMADA 1530DM , WHEN I TURN IT ON IT SAYS NON SYSTEM DISK OR DISK ERROR. HOW CAN I FIX THIS PROBLEM

First make sure that there is no non-boot disc in either the 3.5" or the CD drive. If those are not the problem, your hard drive has either failed or lost the Master Boot Record information. You will need a Windows Install or Upgrade CD for your computer's OS. (You may also need a 3.5" boot disc for the OS.) What OS are you using on that computer. Alternatively, some third party repair software or Partition Management software can restore the boot information if the hard drive is still viable.

Try to boot to the CD and choose repair. Go the the Command Prompt (Recovery Console). Then for XP, try the fixmbr command. You can check if there is any viable data on the hard drive by trying to change drives and then typing dir to get the directory list. Try C: (enter) dir (enter). Look for a Windows folder. (Note: some computers have a recovery partition. Don't mistake that for your Windows drive.)

If your hard drive has failed, you'll need a new drive. Then use the license on the computer and an install disc for that original license. Please note: the recovery disc if you have one often doesn't work with new hardware. You will lose any third party software that was installed by Compaq. You'll need to reinstall your own software.

I hope this helps. Please add more information about your computer for additional support. If you do not have an OS disc, search for a member of a Windows User Group in your area. They often have extra copies.

How too upgrade my computer?

You can purchase, then install extra RAM or memory either online or at Staples or any store that sells computers and parts. Also you can add another hard drive which you can also install yourself if your pc has room for an extra drive. See your pc manual, and it will tell you if you can add an extra drive. Read up on how to install, its really not hard at all to do yourself. If you have an older OS like microsoft vista or xp, you can upgrade to windows 7 or 8 by purchasing one at any computer store, even Walmart. Hope this helps! If you don't feel you can do yourself, then purchase a good computer with at least 3 or 4 gigs of RAM and at least 1 TB hard drive space, as well as a high-performance video card, and a good anti-virus program like Norton or Kaspersky.

When I play Black ops it loads but never goes past the black screen after you press play game. I have an Xbox 360 white and I'm wondering is that the problem. When i took it to my uncles 360 it worked...

I have never heard this issue before. You probably have a lager issue then what can be resolved here and might face future issue in the future. Is this the only game you are having issues with?

Seeing that you mentioned you have purchased a hard drive then I would recommend you install the game to your hard drive and try play after that. This will resolve any issues possably of your disk drive possably getting hung up during gameplay.

follow these instructions to get your game installed on your hard drive:

Install Xbox 360 games on your hard drive from a game disc Note Installing an Xbox 360 game on a hard drive requires between 4 and 8 gigabytes (GB) of free disc space.
  1. Insert the game disc into the disc drive.

Note After you insert the disc, the default option is to automatically start the game. If the game starts, exit the game, and return to the Xbox Dashboard.

  2. From the Xbox Dashboard, go to My Xbox.
  3. Select the game you want to install.
  4. Press Y on your controller.
  5. Select Install to Hard Drive.

A progress indicator appears while your game is being installed on your hard drive.
Notes
  • Installing an Xbox 360 game might take several minutes.
  • Multidisc game? Install each disc to your hard drive.

Im trying to put a new seagate 40gb sata hdrive into my hp nc6320,when i try to load xp to install it tells me there is no hard drive in the computer

New Hard drives do not come with an operating system on them. It's basically a blank disc. You would need to have an XP operating installation disc or the original system restore discs that came with your computer in order to load the XP operating system. If you do not have either of these discs, you will need to purchase an operating system and install it so that you have something on the hard drive to run.

Lost my programs

Most of the time manufacturers put preloaded software and the OS on different disks, do you have multiple cd's that came with it?

Have you tried wiping the hard drive before with success? Did it install some of the preloaded softwares, or none of them?
