My bunn vlpf coffee maker the water tank is overheating to the point of steam is spewing fro the air release tube... I'm thinking thermostat ?

You are correct. Also check the tank for lime.By unplugging and removing top of machine (2) screws and remove fill basin. You can then remove your t-stat probe to check. If it is lime up you can crack off the lime and reinstall it in the tank.If limed up I would suggest de-liming.T-stat part# 4314.0001.

Lime in coffee pot

We recommend cleaning your machine with white vinegar for 2 hours and then using the metal deliming tool under where the sprayhead is located. IThen flush it out with 8-10 decanters of water. If this doesn't fix your problem, please call customer service at 800-352-2866 with the model and date code.

Bunn perks coffee very slow?

This is generally an indication of a lime build-up in the water tubing. If you take off the sprayhead and insert the metal deliming tool into the water tubing all the way leaving out about 1-2 inches and twist it about 5-6 times, this should remove the lime deposits from the water tubing. Then flush out the machine with 2-3 decanters of water. If this doesn't fix the problem, then call customer service with the model and date code for further assistance.

HAVE LOST MANUAL. HOW DO I CLEAN IT

You will need the de-liming tool to proceed. Run a pot of white distilled viniger thouth the coffe maker. Viniger is a excellent cleaner & will not hurt any internal parts.

Taste

Check your water supply lines if your unit is hooked directly into a water supply. Your unit either has to be cleaned (de-limed) or your water source is bad. You could try using filtered water, but if you have residue inside the unit it must be flushed with a professional delimer if white vinegar doesn't do the trick.

My bunn is too slow

Use the de-liming spring to clean the copper tube behind the spray head. Pour several pots of clear white vinegar through the unit to further remove lime and scale from the interior of your coffee maker. My Bunn is 24 years old, and the only replacement parts I've ever required are new carafes and the 4041 silicone washer repair kit.
