Can anyone tell me how to reformat an itouch2 card? I had backed up my games onto it...but downloaded one recently, and now it won't work any more! I was getting the message: boot file x x x missing...but now not even that will appear!

If you reformat the SD card you will not lose any of the software that is on the system. None of that data is stored into the SD card. The only thing that you can save to the SD card are pictures and you can back up you downloaded games onto it. Any software you have downloaded or came on the system will be completely unaffected if you reformat the SD card. Thanks for using FixYa!
if you put the sd card into the computer/laptop and delete the game and its save file it should work. If not delete the game and save file, cut all the games and put them all on a folder on your computer/laptop. Then copy them all back onto the sd card. If not working still, wipe the sd card, then load the r4 data onto it again. Before woping you can copy the existing games onto a folder on your computer
:) hope this helps!
When you delete the files, it doesn't really free up the space, just marks the files as non readable. To free the space, ensure the SD card is connected to your PC, and empty your recycle bin. This will mark the space on the card as writeable.
put ur sd card onto the computer and make sure the games are still on the sd card, then wipe ur sd card after puttging the games into a separate file on ur compputer.
Make sure they are in .nds format if not they wont work , then downlaod new r4 software and put it onto ur sd card, then make a folder called "games" and put the games back on in the folder called games.
Also if the problem occurred after u have recently downloaded a new game i would delete the new game cos it may have a virus
:) hope this helps.!
If menu comes up on the dsi then you have not put the right software on the sdcard, it wont matter putting the files into a games folder, you have to put the correct software for the card onto it, check you have the right software by going to infoxdomain and find the right software for your card, you can get files from the internet that you can put onto your card without unzipping them, but most are zipped, in that case you have to have winrare, you can download that from sites like btjunkie, of the pirate bay, once you have the right software for the card and unzipped the game then put them on the sdcard, it should be ok, you can put the games into a games folder on the card, but it will work without that.
1. Go to http://www.r4ds.cn/download/r4_v1.18_kernel.html
and download the kernal.
2. ONce downloaded copy the files onto the R4 card.
3. When you put the R4 card in again it should come up with a menu.
4. When you want to put games on just create a new file called games and fill it up.
good luck and if it works please rate me.
The problem stems from deleting some of the images from the PC. You need to copy all the files onto the PC, and delete all of them from the card on the camera. Then reformat the card on the camera. Then take 1 picture on the camera.
After you have just 1 new photo on the card, try copying the older files back onto the card in the same directory as the 1 new photo. This may work.
If it doesn't work, the problem may be with missing hidden thumbnail files. In that case you may not be able to get the photos to display on the camera again.
Have you installed Moonshell onto the micro-SD card? It has to be there to see the games. If you have Moonshell installed, you should be able to navigate to where you stored your files. Your adapter should have come with a CD with Moonshell on it or you can download a newer version on the internet.
