Dear Friend,
You can identify whether your PC has Hi-Speed USB or not relatively
easy. Open Device Manager and expand the Universal Serial Bus section. There should be an "Enhanced" USB host controller present.
i dont have 2.0 usb how can i update my present - d16424f.jpg
There are currently 7 manufacturers of the Hi-Speed USB host silicon themselves:ALi (Acer Labs), Intel, NEC, Sis, VIA, NVIDIA (shows as "Standard" controller),Philips.
Note:Older computers may have only the slower USB 1.1 interface. Adding USB 2.0 isn't difficult, but it does require a hardware addition.

There is no need to Update your USB in Latest PC.
You have to do one thing is that ensure you are perfectly Installed your Drivers(Included in CD which you Owned when Purchasing PC).

I hope You made it clear ...Thanks for Contacting FixYa...

Hello

Unfortunately, you cannot update the motherboard USB controller to the 2.0 USB standard.

The easiest way to make a computer USB 2.0 compliant is to install a USB 2.0 PCI card in it. Most USB cards have an internal USB port so you can connect the USB slots on the front of the PC to the new USB 2.0 card.

WHOA!, what ever you do,DONT PLUG IN COM 2COM without the right cord! I also had a question about connecting from one com to another via usb cord. I found out that it takes a special cord to do that. the cord in question has a little box it one side of the plug just for com 2 com/usb connections. It will literally MELT the plain usb cord and blow out the socket!! probably destroying both computers. Sorry, i cant help you on your problem, but i DO know about the usb thing. GOOD LUCK!!

Some external storage devices work poorly or not at all when connected to a hub; try connecting the drive directly to a port on the computer.

Also check if it's detected in "Disk Management".

Here you can verify if the partition and format are correct for the Operating System.

Check the Drive's status in Device manager.

This will verify if the external drive has a drive letter designation.

Check Partition and Format.

Log in as Administrator account in windows or any other account with administrative privileges

Insert your removable disk into the USB port.

Click Start, right click on computer and select manage.

Now, click Disk Management.

Check whether drive letter for the device is present.

Check the lower window to find whether the device is detected (such as Disk 1, Disk 2, etc).

If the device is detected with a drive letter, verify that no other device is using that drive letter.

If it is, change it to unused drive letter.

if you dont have a disk with the drivers

you will need to download one try one of these

Usb 2.0

Yes, your M2V board is USB 2.0 complaint.
How do know if your PC has USB 2.0?
You can identify whether your PC has Hi-Speed USB or relatively easy. Open control panel, open System. Click the Hardware tab & Click Device Manager.
Scroll down to Universal Serial Bus Controllers. Click the + sign to expand. There should be an "Enhanced" USB host controller present. Windows 98 systems may use a different name, because Hi-Speed USB drivers in this operating systems are not provided directly from Microsoft, (Windows ME, 2000 and XP)
get their drivers through (Windows Update). There should also be two "standard" version USB host controllers present as well. They are embedded in the USB chip which routes the differing
USB speeds accordingly without user intervention. nVidia (shows as "Standard" controller) & not enhanced but are still USB 2.0
You need to enter your bios. How to enter your bios?
When you turn on your Pc press the delete key every 2 or 3 seconds. Your system will load the bios. Use your manual & go to pg. 4-16 section 4.4.2. Make sure you have Enabled USB 1.1 & enable USB 2.0. Enable Legacy USB support & set USB 2.0 Controller Mode to HiSpeed. Bios EHCI Hand-off, set to Enable
Save & Exit your bios. When your system has finished loading run Windows Update. This will update your USB driver to 2.0
How fast is USB 2.0? USB 2.0 has a raw data rate at 480Mbps.
