Are you using a memory card?
- If no- maybe your internal memory is already full
- If yes- make sure that the write protect switch of the memory card is slided upward (towards the gold pins)

E1532 comes up on my screen and won't take any

E1532 signifies # events that have occurred , not an error...you probably have something like P0198/E1534...go into setup until delete images NO;press select;up down arrows to get flashing YES;select..then scroll to delete events NO;press select up or down, select.

I have a Sony DSC-W50 Cybershot camera that won't take pictures or videos anymore. It powers up fine and the screen works, but when I hold down the shutter button all the way, it focuses and nothing more.

Hook up to usb port, nothing happens

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.
The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use Nikon Transfer or any other photo cataloging program.
