GAS STOVE tHE ELECTRIC GAS IGNITORS WON'T SHUT OFF

Is there an orange glow in the burner area when this happens? If so then the thermostat is not shutting the ignitor off and needs replacing. If there is no glow then the gas valve is not shutting off the gas and needs repalcing

All stoves have a gas shut off valve. Make sure your gas dryer still works because you paid your gas bill. Yours might be located under the stove or in the basement.

Need more in fo-gas or electric: If electric,I have seen problem in electrical box over time the screws where wires are connected over heat and get loose or break check both ends and disconnected electrical cord before doing this.Check all wires.

Hi, sometimes cooking spills stop the ignitor from working. Clean the cook top thoroughly and try it again. Spills can also make the ignitor go off randomly when you are not operating your cooker. Check if the ignition point where the zap comes from is not turned or bent too far from its original position. If you have a gas shut off make sure it is fully open to supply enough gas. If all else fails buy a cheap hand held ignitor to start your gas stove. If the cause is a spill which sometimes the problem can persist even after cleaning it may take a while for it to work again. If the problem is with all six burners then your ignitor probably needs replacing. When you hear the ignitor zap check to see if the electronic zap appears to jump across to the edge of the burner. If it doesn't it will not light the flame no matter how many times you try. I hope this helps you.

The model number that you gave is for an ELECTRIC stove, and you are referencing an ignitor on a gas stove. Please take another look at the model number of your unit, so that we might be able to help you solve your problem.

Just solved this on the Kenmore model 911.33389 (same unit). Ignitors started with no one touching the cooktop. It has had a history of doing this and, this time, sparks were visible under the knob. Disassembled cooktop (don't forget to unplug and shut off the gas!). Performed "smell test" for burned electronics. Found smell in #3 ignitor switch. Disassembled and found worn, burned, and fried. Parts list was inside unit but had a typo for the "ignitor switch". Showed WB18T10240. Ordered that only to discover it was the transformer to ignitor wire harness set (no photo on website!). Wrong part... ugh! Dug deeper for the correct part #. It was WB18T10239 but it has been replaced with WB18T10344. Noted on some website that someone installed one and then the ignitor was NOT synchronized. Turns out, you can install WB18T10344 about three different ways. Mine was 22 degrees off vertical (different than original) and now my unit works perfectly! Also, install the new switch harness (if that's what you do) starting from the left front valve then clockwise. The original unit installed from the right front valve, then clockwise. Boy, I had a Thermador that used to drive me bats.
The best solution was to clean around the ignitor pin and make sure the orifices closest to the ignitor are not blocked... It made a big difference.
I used a small fine metal bristle brush.. did the trick.

We just had that problem - the igniter is electric - if none of the burners are "clicking" it could be a power problem. unplug the stove and check whether the outlet is working. In our case, the outlet the stove is plugged into has a "GFI outlet with a reset button. So we reset the outlet and that fixed the problem.
