Purple light will not stay lit

I just recently purchased the Motorola H700 bluetooth and I'm having a hard time keeping the bluetooth in pairing mode. I do the pairing as said, with pressing the call button till it turns purple, and then I quickly pull up the boom mic, but the light quickly disappear. I'm wondering if this is a defective device or is I'm doing something wrong. Please help because I brought this off ebay and I doubt it if I can return it. Thanks.

I signed up JUST because this solution worked:

"Hmm this may sound like a stupid solution that doesnt work but what i did is...,

#1 I Held the button to make the violet light go on
#2 when the violet light is on dont just flip the boom mic, flip* the earpiece with it.

*note: when fliping the mic and earpiece, dont open slowly, flip it open fast and keep it there." I do want to note that my passcode was reset to nothing during my 3 months of troubleshooting.

Not going to mess with it.

I had a problem where mine was connecting to "nothing." I googled how to reset it, it took me here, somewhere some one suggested that while the boom is closed, press the call button (it's surrounded by the light ring) then open th boom before the purple light goes away, and that "forces" it to stay in pairing mode. that did fix my problem, you can try it if you want. if it works, great, if not, i don't really know what else to say.

Hi Chevon26, you must keep the boom mic closed until your phone has finished pairing with your H700. Once you open the boom mic you shut down the pairing mode. You must be quick while pairing the H700 to your phone because the H700 will not stay in pairing mode that long. It's not uncommon for the H700 to come out of pairing mode before you can get your phone to find the H700.

Good Luck!
Mike

Hey guys. I had the problem where i would hold down the call button turned purple, i opened up the boom and the purple light would go away.

What you have to do is open up the earpiece ASWELL as the boom.

hope i helped :)

Oper the earhook which opens the boom and keep a little pressure on it - forcing it opened a little more. also try push and holding the talk button after already openeing the boom. it took a while, but eventually, the purple light stayed lit so i could pair it to iphone 3gs.

Purple light wont stay lit for pairing

Make sure the microphone is closed and the BlueTooth is off. Hold the button in until it turns purple. As soon as it does release the button and flip out the microphone. The purple light should stay lit all the time now. That is until the pairing process is done with the phone.

Motorola H700

First, you will need to put the H700 into pairing mode. Look at the last digit in the part number for your headset (there are 3 versions). If it "A" or "B", do the following... 1. Starting with the headset powered off (flip closed), hold down the Call button for 1 to 5 seconds until the light is steadily lit in purple. 2. With the light steadily lit, flip out the boom. The light should remain steadily lit in purple. If the light is flashing, or if the light starts flashing anytime before completing the steps below, the headset is not in pairing mode, and these steps will need to be repeated. If you part number ends in a "C", do the following... If the headset has never been paired with another device, simply open the headset boom. The indicator light becomes steadily lit in purple. If the headset has previously been paired with other devices, first ensure those devices are turned off. Then open the headset boom and the indicator light flashes in blue. After about 5 seconds, the indicator light becomes steadily lit in purple. And finally, you will have to follow these instructions on you A900... 1. While in standby mode, press the Menu/OK button 2. Select Tools (9) 3. Select Bluetooth® (4) 4. Highlight Yes, using the navigation keys, on the Enable Bluetooth® prompt 5. Press the Menu OK button to enable Bluetooth® 6. Select Bluetooth® (4) 7. Press the left soft key for Add New 8. Highlight Search, using the navigation keys 9. Press the Menu/OK button to begin search for new device 10. Highlight the desired Bluetooth device, using the navigation keys 11. Press the left soft key for Add to List 12. Enter Passkey "0000" press the Menu/OK button, you will get a brief message stating pairing 13. Press the left soft key for Done 14. At the Trusted Devices screen, press the left soft key for Connect 15. You will get a brief message stating connecting 16. After being connected you will return to the Bluetooth® Trusted Devices screen Hope this helps. Good luck

Motorola H700 Problems with BB Pearl 8100

Steps to pair a H700 headset with any bleutooth pone:

  1. Make sure the H700 fully chared (very important)!!
  2. Make sure the microphone boom is folded closed, i.e. power is off!
  3. Hold the call button for 1-5 seconds until the light is steady lit purple
  4. Flip out the microphone boom, the light should stay lit purple!

Now you are ready to pair the headset with your phone, so follow the pairing instructions of your phone.

Note: When prompted for the Passkey; it is most likely 0000 but the correct Passkey should be on the headset accessory instructions.

I must add that indeed my headset on occation (once or twice every three months) also loses its connection with the blackberry (a 8703e) . At which time I have to remove the headset from my phone bluetooth device list, and start the above described steps to pair my headset with the phone again.

Motorola H700 pairing

It's important to note that the pin has to be entered while the light is still violet. On the phone, begin searching for bluetooth devices. With the boom closed, hold the center button until the light turns violet, then immediately flip the boom open. The phone should immediately find your H700. However, to pair successfully, you must enter the pin (0000) while the light is still violet. If the light goes off, close the boom, enter 0000, and while the phone says processing, hold the center button until the light turns violet and flip the boom open. The light on your H700 will turn blue, then flash rapidly, and your phone should say that it has paired successfully.
