Re: Error 46 I believe I can reset the page counter, how...
Hi, this error is displayed because the printer has performed a preset number of printhead purging and flushing operations, and the ink absorber and the waste flushing box is full.
CAUTION
If you reset the counter without replacing the ink absorber and the flushing box, you can end up with ink flowing out of the printer, all over your desk! It happens! I have seen several messed up desks and carpets stained with ink.
To reset the Counter (After you have replaced the parts mentioned)
- Put the device into 'Maintenance mode' - Press Menu and Black(mono) Start keys, next press the up arrow 4 times to make the device enter the Maintenance mode. It should beep for one second and then display MAINTENANCE on the LCD.
- Press 8 and 0 keys to enter machine log mode
- Press the Black (mono) Start key several times until the 'Purge' or 'Flushing' count comes up on the LCD
- Press the 2, 7, 8, and 3 keys in this order to reset the count
- Press Stop/Exit key to return to initial Maintenance mode
- Press the 9 key twice to exit and return to normal operation.
Good luck
