My laptop is Dell Inspiron 1520. Last night, it functioned fine. But this morning, I turn it on, the screen just black out. I tried to take out the battery and use AC plug in. It still had the same problem. Is there anyway I can fix this?! Please, I need it urgently!

Remove the battery from its compartment on the side of your Dell Inspiron laptop computer.

Remove the power adapter from its plug on the side of the Dell Inspiron (if your laptop is currently plugged into a wall outlet).

Press down and hold the "Power" button on the laptop for one to two minutes. This will dispel the excess electrical current that is built up inside the laptop.

Put the battery back inside the compartment of your Dell Inspiron.

Plug your power adapter back into the side of the Dell Inspiron. Press "Power." Your laptop computer will now turn on.

press F8 when system start run in safe mode after some time reboot system now you can work

if it works fine in safe mode you should try a system restore . most of the time a problem that gos away in safe mode is driver related . IE software don't think you have a hard ware issue. you can call dell if you do not have the disk . 1-866-751-6079 call this number it's dell's Spanish tech support number but this is the fastest way to reach a real person at dell . just ask them to speak English and they will.

As it works ok in safe mode, I suggest you check that your graphics drivers are up to date.

You should be able to download the latest from the Dell website.

boot computer when it first starts up push F8 for advance menu. in advance menu select last known good configuration. hit enter . if the computer ges to desk top do a system restore . to before the issue started. if this fails you will need the windows disk to do a system repair. your configuration may be corrupted.

You've lost your desktop display.
The first thing I would do is to start the computer in safe mode. Once there, do a system restore back to the time that it worked.
I would also, just to be safe, do your disk management tasks like checking your hard drive for errors and running defrag.

Try reseating the cable that goes to the back of the lcd and also the other end of that cable that plugs into the motherboard. If that doesn't do it then either the lcd or the inverter is bad. Either way when you get a replacement screen for a dell laptop it normally comes with a new inverter as well. If your laptop is under warranty thru dell then you can get it replaced thru them. If you have your serial number then I can look it up and see if your system is still under warranty.

Well it seems that the system is running but there is no display on the screen.To confirm that try connecting a external moniter ot the system and see if you get the display on that.Also try hitting the NUM lock key and see if it turns on and off as well.After connecting the external moniter if you see the display than there is an issue with the screen and incase u still do not see the display than there could be an issue with the video card.So incase you still have the warranties on the system you call the dell tech support and get the parts replaced.
