I bought an lg xenon off of ebay and it came with a lot of weird stuff on the phone so when i treid to master reset it there was a security code but i dont know what the code is since it was not my phone so what do i do?

Well I'm pretty sure you tried 000000 or 12345 you know the normal codes 0000, try ##786# but beware this will erase all data on the phone. ALL DATA

I am supposing you are using the LG Xenon GR500.
Soft Reset
To perform a soft reset, remove and re-insert the battery.

Master Reset
IMPORTANT: All configuration settings will be set back to their factory defaults. Personal data and downloaded content, however, will not be lost.


  1. From the standby screen, press the menu icon.


  2. Tap the Settings Icon.


  3. Tap the Phone icon.


  4. Scroll to and tap Reset Settings.


  5. Tap Master Reset.


  6. Tap Yes.


  7. Enter the device's security code, then tap OK. The device will reset.
    NOTE: The default security code is 0000.

Master Clear
IMPORTANT: All configuration settings will be set back to their factory defaults. Also, all personal data (including contacts) and downloaded content will be erased.

  1. From the standby screen, press the menu icon.


  2. Tap the Settings Icon.


  3. Tap the Phone icon.


  4. Scroll to and tap Reset Settings.

Hey there, I own a LG Xenon (LG GR500FD) and my screen is acting real weird... when i touch the screen, the screen "sees" my finger higher on the screen than the real position......
The phone should still function fine with the keypad open.

So type in your code, then use the arrow keys to select yes and hit enter...

All your data will be delete from your cell phone if you dod a master reset. Depending on what problem your trying to fix on your phone. A master rester is not they way to go.

what i reccomend, is to master rest because it will save your contacts and everything ! the only thing it won't save is on your contacts, if you've saved a picture to their name. I have the same phone and I was afraid to do that too, but I did & thats all that happened

I bought a phone from ebay, and the security code is not the default 0000, and I haven't the slightest idea on how to reset without knowing the orignal security code so I was wondering what is the factory...
on the touch keypad "dial" 1809#*365# to enter Engineering Mode and select 4-Master Reset. You'll lose everything stored ON THE PHONE but will retain SIM card stuff and of course SDMicro stuff. The phone itself will be in out-0f-the-box condition
