Hi dingbat3223, If you are having problems printing just on a particular program such as Word or Excel, you have to go to the page setup and configure the margins. If you are having this problem printing anything, then check the paper size on the printer properties *depending on the OS* click on Start - Control Panel - Devices and Printers (on Windows 7) or Printers and Faxes (windows xp) and right click your dell printer and click on properties. Under Device Settings tab, make sure you have "Letter" as paper size. If you still have the same issue. Just uninstall the DELL software and reinstall again (DIsconnect the printer before re-installing), you can download the drivers on the dell.com website.
I hope this helps. Please do not forget to rate and provide positive feedback for our support. Thank you :D

Printer prints off left side of page

You're Registration is off. This is an adjustment that must be done in the Diagnostic mode of the printer. You're better off getting an actual tech who knows how to make this adjustment. You can move the image left/right and top/bottom. Can mess things up bad if you don't know what you're doing.

I am trying to print onto pre-printed forms which have a dark blue band at the top. My printer isn't recognising that the band is there so is starting to print too far down the page. Help please!

This type of problem can usually be resolved simply by adjusting the margins from within your word processing program. Depending on which word processor you are using you can go into the page setup and make these changes. For Microsoft Word go to the "File" tab at the top then to page setup. The first tab that comes up will allow you to change the margins on the page. If the print is too far down try reducing the top margin from one inch to 0.5. If that is not enough reduce it some more. Print test pages on regular paper, then hold them up to the light against the paper with the pre-printed band to see how the print lines up. That way you don't waste the expensive paper!

Envelope margin error

have you adjusted the page setup on your software?
I'm assuming you're using Word to print a mail merge. yes?

Check that the margins are setup properly in the "word document"
Go undetr file, page setup, and confirm the envelope size is set properly.
Check the page setup in the printing preferences.
File, Print, Printing Preferences.

The printer accepts whatever margins microsoft word tells it to use.

Best wishes

Printing becoming hard to read as words are fading especially the far right and far left of the page.

Looks like a problem with the toner or printer fuser assembly. Try shaking the toner for 30secs in left right direction and vice versa. If it works change the toner or refill it. Else, ask the printer technician to check up the printer hardware.

I can't get rid of the margins when i print something

I'm guess you are printing from MS Word? Click File the "Page Setup" Click the layout tab the far right then go to the bottom and click borders and select the NONE option. You should have your borders removed!! =) That is if that is the type of border you are talking about.

Cheers!!
