E1 f5 error code whirlpool gr399lxhs

The code came up initially when I tried to start the self clean cycle. The e1 f5 code has come up and the door latch will not unlock. At the suggestion of Whirlpool I have unplugged for at least 15 minutes, I left it for 30. I pushed and tried to wiggle the upper right corner of the door, I have tried the center of the door. Nothing has worked to unlock. Is there a location on the stove that I can access a switch to open the oven?

E1 F5 error code. Door won't unlock after running clean cycle. Is this a mechanical trouble with the door lock, or is this from heat sensitive electronics?

The E1- F5 error is a door lock error.

The control (TIMER) has likely failed in this instance - BUT...

Sometimes when you disconnect power to a range and reconnect it the electronic range control gets confused.
You should disconnect power again for 15 seconds and reconnect and see if that helps.

If it doesn't cure the E1- F5 error hold the bake button in until E0- F2 appears in the display.
This is the error for a stuck button on the keypad and is the way to clear the memory of the electronic range control.

Sometimes these work, but if the control has failed it won't make any difference.

Wait until "Door Locked" shows on screen.
Press "Cancel/Off" (Upper Oven) wait until "Door Locked" turns off.

Cannot find my manual and would like to know how to use the self-cleaning part. I held the button down for "lock", but the door did not lock, and where do I go from there?

Give this a try:
1. Verify error code by pressing and holding CANCEL/OFF key for 5 seconds. Momentarily (less than 5 sec.) press CANCEL key again to remove error code display. 2. Program and start the Clean mode. Observe to see if door locks. If it does not, inspect the locking mechanism from the solenoid to the latch pawl and door to find the cause of the problem. If the door is not locking, then 1 minute from the start of the Clean, the F5 E1 code will again be displayed. Press CANCEL key to remove error code display. 3. Once any mechanical problems with the latch mechanism have been corrected, program and start a Clean cycle (after, if necessary, clearing F5 E1 error code) to ensure proper operation of the door lock. Immediately cancel the Clean mode to observe proper operation of door unlock.

If this doesn't help try this link to locate the right model:

I am trying to run the self cleaning oven and keep getting a toubleshooting code of e1 f5. Not sure what this means or how to fix it/

Hello- The code you describe- E1 F5 - indicates a problem with the door switch. This little switch tends to fail during or after the 'self-clean' function is used. The switches are difficult to get to on some of these units so plan on just replacing it with a new one. This part is available locally at an appliance parts store with a complete model # from range tag. When power is re-connected, door motor should cycle back to correct position. Remember- techs call it 'self-destruct', so avoid 'self-clean'. The tried and true cleaning methods are a lot less destructive on the circuits and electronics. Let me know if this info helps- have more if needed. Thanks- Ed.
