I have the DLink DPR-1260 and I have connected my two USB printers to it. One is an Epson CX6500 and the other a Canon LPB2900. The Epson is a scanner as well and I can actually use the scan facility from my computer running XP using the wireless link. The drivers loaded okay and both printers are listed when I use the DLink setup page. However when I try to print to either printer it reports: Incorrect Port The port to which the printer is connected is not supported check the port. I am using Ports 9101 and 9102. As I say I can see both printers on the wireless link and both drivers loaded so I am not sure why I cannot print to either printer.
I have now managed to print to my Epson but on the status page for the DLink showing both printers the Canon is shown off line. I have swapped USB ports with no difference. The Canon prints if I connect direct to a USB port on my computer but shows off line when connected to the DL print server even though I can see its status. I have compared the port configuration and they are identical so I just cannot see why my Canon should be showing off line when all the indications on the Canon printer are normal.I have now managed to print to my Epson but on the status page for the DLink showing both printers the Canon is shown off line. i got same problem and i have called DLink customer service support and i confirmed it's because the model of the printer is not supported by the Dlink DPR-1260.
So, how? any hacking??

I have had the same problem. 2 computers had been able to print fine then 1 stopped (other was still fine). I use Network Magic as well- noticed that the IP address for the print server was different on each computer. I deleted the 2 printers on the computer that could not communicate to the server, logged into the server and set its IP address to static at the address listed on the computer that could print. Next ran the set up for the printers on the problem computer again. Test pages now printed out fine.

My DPR-1260 arrived yesterday and I set it up easily in minutes on both Windows 7 (32-bit Pro) and XP SP3 with 3 printers attached. So far I have only tried wired connection. Wi-fi may be more problematical. Printers are Brother HL-2040, HL-2140 and Samsung CLP-300. Could not get it to recognize my Canon Lide 25 scanner
download latest drivers and install with printer unplugged...it will install software to c:\program files\samsung\ and then 2 more folders in you will get the drivers folder - add printer and just do have disk and browse to that folder.
Are the small printer icons lit up on the face of the PServer? Mine has recently started losing connectivity and simply unplugging the power and plugging it back in restores full function. Still looking for the reason it just started doing it though..
I had the same problem. After many hours of trial and error, I got two XP laptops and a Vista desktops configured. Be sure to use the latest firmware from Dlink. Disable all s/w firewalls. In my case Norton Firewall from Yahoo was a problem. The Vista PC was configured to print within 30 mins and the XPs took a while. I couldn't get the print server to appear in the My Network Places A couple of the guys who left comments on the product at Newegg actually have a good solution. The solution involves setting the printers up as local printers with standard TCP/IP ports that point to the IP address or the URL ("dlink-"6_last_digits_of_MAC_ID) and USB port number 9100-9103. You can google how to set up local printers w/ TCP/IP connections with USB ports on the internet. Note the Scanner will not be recognized but at least you can print on MF4150.
this kind of problem occurs in dlink router sometimes & after some time router stop responding after 10 -15 min & once u reboot the router it again start work for a while. the best solution to this problem is to reset the router back to its factory defualt settings u can do this by press the reset button on the back on the router ( it looks like a small hole u have to use a pin for press that button) once u have reset the router to factory default settings just reconfig the router & i am sure it will start working fine in case u still face the same problem just contact D-link or send me the details about the problem & the physical setup of ur router & printer etc
Before I put this solution in (manually adding the printer step-by-step), I could print a test page just fine, but not anything from Office.
Make sure to follow each step in order. I printed off the test page and held it up to the old one and the only thing I saw different was a field named "Shared". It was blank but who knows. I'm just happy the darn thing is working!
Try to upgrade the firmware revision to the last one (1.21). I had similar problem with the dpr-1260 firmware rev 1.00. Now after the firmware upgrade the problem seems solved
seth, did u figure this out since last month? I am looking for the same, a print server that works with the epson 1400. is it too new on the market for any print server to know whether it works?
