Start relay should be checked, if cables are loose or corroded they do not deliver enough power.if jumping the start relay will engage the starter replace the relay.

The bike won't start

Hi Thomas put the bike in a high gear and turn the back wheel to make sure the motor is turning over. If it is try booster cables. If that don't work follow the plus cable to the starter solonide and cross the two heavy cables with a screwdriver if the starter is still not working you will need a starter. Regards Jim...

My 1999 Volkswagon beetle won't start and i replacestarter. Now I'm geting a clicking noise where before Iwasn't. battery is good had that tested. It's at 84% but the car has a push button...

You say you renewed or was the starter a second hand one because you say when you turn it over you hear a clicking noise , that's the solanoid on the starter motor where it not turning the starter over , a little check to do is put the car in 4 gear handbrake off and push it a bit until you hear the engine turn and then try and start it if still the same check and replace the starter as I don't know if yours is new or second hand

Bike won't start, new Harley battery, and starter bike 2006 FLHX Street Glide, all I get is a clicking noise from solenoid under seat

I'm not too familiar with the later model bikes but if I were getting a clicking noise under the seat and the bike was not starting, I'd investigate the source of the noise. It's possible that it is a starter relay that engages the solenoid that is an integral part of the starter. Look at the starter from the right hand side of your bike. You'll see a single small wire that connects to the end of the starter just above the end plate of the solenoid. Disconnect this wire and connect a test light or volt meter to the wire. Turn on your ignition switch and press the start button. You should hear the click under the seat and see voltage at the end of that wire. If not, replace the relay, a plastic cube about an inch in dimension.

Good Luck

Won't start.Get a ckicking sound when starter button is engaged..light goes on, but no rumble to the engine at all. It's my first bike..don't even know where the battery is located..!

#1 GET A GOOD SHOP MANUAL[The 30+dollars will save you a heck of a lot more as long as you own the bike #2 good chance the battery is low even though a battery will light a headlight it will not necessarily crank the starter..The clicking you hear is starter solenoid telling you this is the case so charge the battery. If the problem persists check the batteryat your local auto parts for a load test its usually free. The battery could be as old as the bike and life expectancy is at limits here.If the battery is ok check the solenoid [at end of the battery red heavy wire] I really think these are your two trouble makers..Hopefuuly a Happy New Year

93 HD Sportster 1200 will not start!

Have you tried to bypass the starter button/switch? Use a heavy jumper wire to go between the starter terminal and the positive battery terminal. Turn the key to "On" position, make sure "Run/Off" switch is turn on. Make sure bike is in neutral. I've started guys bikes with coat hangers before when they lost had trouble with the starter button. If the bike starter turns over, you'll at least have a place to start looking for the issue. Also you said you checked the battery, what was the voltage?

Starter will not engage

Either your battery is bad or a connection has worked loose. Check battery cables (both ends) and if everything is tight replace the battery.

Push starter button and no start

Hello,
Evansville! Nice part of the World.
Bud's Harley Shop still there?
O.k. daft thing is the off run switch on the handlebars turned to off?
Failing this will the bike start and run off bumping (Push start).
If it does take a look at the battery (Maybe Dead cell/s) or Starter solenoid wire/fuse.
Solenoid is located near the battery it is the cylindrical item with the main pos+ wire from battery going to it.
Good Luck! could do with a new Bud's Harley 'T' shirt as mines worn out.
