Hi, yes. Download a program called ERD Commander 2008 or 2005 and make a bootable CD. I think you will download an ISO so you need Nero to burn it on a disk. Then boot from it (on the toshiba 4300) and once you are using the ERD commander, look for system restore, and it's the same as the Windows system restore. Choose a day before you downloaded the Internet Explorer and see if it works. I hope this helps. Don't forget to rate and provide positive feedback for our fast-free response today. Thank you :D

I have lost the use of internet explorer - I get a run time error. I have tried to download from their website but my system says there is a newer version already loaded so it won't load the one I down...

Steps for Windows 7To uninstall Internet Explorer 8, follow these steps:
  1. Close all programs.
  2. Click Start vistastartbutton.jpg, and then click Control Panel.
  3. Under Programs, click Uninstall a program.
  4. In the tasks pane, click Turn Windows features on or off.
  5. In the list of windows features, clear the check box next to Internet Explorer 8.
  6. You receive a warning message in a pop-up window. Click Yes.
Internet Explorer 8 will now be uninstalled. The system will restart after the installation.

if that fails then there is a manual way to do this using the CMD prompt...
  1. Carefully select and then copy the following command: FORFILES /P %WINDIR%servicingPackages /M Microsoft-Windows-InternetExplorer-8*.mum /c "cmd /c echo Uninstalling package @fname && start /w pkgmgr /up:@fname /norestart"
  2. Click Start, and then type Cmd.exe in the Start Search box.
  3. In the list of programs, right-click Cmd.exe, and then click Run as administrator.

Note If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type the password, or click Continue.
  4. Right-click inside the Administrator: Command Prompt window, and then click Paste to paste the command that you copied in step 1.
  5. Press ENTER to uninstall Internet Explorer 8.
  6. When the uninstall program is finished, restart your computer.
You cannot uninstall Internet Explorer 8 if it is set as not removable. This occurs if you install Internet Explorer 8 before you install Service Pack 3 (SP3) for Windows XP. If this scenario applies to you, then you must uninstall SP3 before you can uninstall Internet Explorer 8. Downloaded explorer 8, now cant open anything at all. just says isass.exe system error, security accounts manager initalization failed because of the following error. The handle is invalid. error status:...

Well then... you should restart your machine and press F8 (on your keyboard) continuously until prompted with a menu.

Select the option "last known good configuration"... that should bring your machine back to how it was before IE screwed it up.

Hope this helps!?

Internet explorer 8 keeps shutting down

Hi,

You can easily fix the issues with the Internet Explorer closing in your computer by checking the reason for the issue. If the issue is caused due to any installed plug-in, you can remove the plug-in from all the unnecessary or trouble creating plug-ins installed in your IE8. If you have malware issues in your computer, you can install a good antivirus program in your computer. Then you can scan and fix all the malware threats in your computer after updating it. The issues with your temporary files can be fixed by deleting all the files in your temporary Internet folder. If you have any file corruption, you can perform a repair installation after fixing all malware threats in your computer.
