turn on/off, unplug, wait a minute, plug back in, should reset.
take all paper out. check to see if any paper is jammed in the rollers. take color cartridge out to see if anything is blocking the ink, might have a speck of dirt on it. put back in. be careful if you touch it the area of ink dispensary.
go to application folder for your computer, dbl click icon for make of printer, for settings, check to ensure everything is order.
lastly, check make of printer trouble shooting web site for more information. hp has an awesome website for trouble shooting
hope this helps, good luck.

Check that the HP all-in-one print queue is not paused (Windows) or stopped (Macintosh). If it is, choose the appropriate setting to resume printing. For more information about accessing the print queue, see the documentation that came with the operating system installed on your computer.
Check the USB cable. If you are using an older cable, it might not be working properly. Try connecting it to another product to see if the USB cable works. If you experience problems, the USB cable might need to be replaced. Also verify that the cable does not exceed 3 meters (9.8 feet) in length.

Replaced black print cartridge rejected.

Hi there remove the cartrideg & reset the printer first. After that off the printer. Now fix the cartridge in printer. Turn on again. If you face same problem then reset again with cartridge, give a test print from print preferrence. I hope your problem will solve then. Thanks & waiting for your feedback.

I have an error that says "remove and check color cartridge". I have replaced it and still get the error. what can I do?

Sometimes this issue occurs if the print head contacts are bit dirty.
First take the printer cartridges out, clean the shiney copper looking plate on the print head located at the back of the ink carriage in the printer, then wipe it dry with a lint free cloth. i suggest doing it a couple of times.
then reinsert the print cartridges, do a test page and/or a clean cartridges page, and see if it clears up.....

Error message says check color print cartridge. We've removed and reinstalled several times and the message is still there.

Remove the color cartridges and insure that the spring in not loose. Also look at the printer circuit in the back for pin holes.

Insert HP color inkjet print cartridge 99 into HP OfficeJet 7410 I am replacing the HP 97 color print cartridge with th 99 print cartridge (both are color). The 99 will not go in all the way. I notice the...

The HP 99 cartridge is used if you would like to print photos. The HP 99 replaces the HP 96 (black) cartridge in your printer. The HP 99 cartridge has black, photo magenta, and photo cyan inks in it. When you pair this with the cyan, magenta, and yellow in your HP 97 (color) cartridge you have the full set of photo colors represented.

My HP Officejet 7410 xi is showing an error message that states "Remove and check color cartridge". I have tried replacing the old cartridge with two separate new ones and I still get the error message.

Apparently, there is a known problem with this printer series (7310 / 7410). When you replace the cartridge, there is a metal wire that keeps the cartridge in place. This wire comes away from the wall as you slide the cartridge in and makes a hole in the ribbon cable.

Unfortunately, there is not much that you can do, other than to contact HP. Hopefully, your printer is still under warranty.
