With regard to your inspiron 6000 wireless, I believe that the wireless card included is a b/g type. This means that the maximum speed that you could get to a wireless connection is actually 56Mbps which is really around 50% of the normal ethernet connection which is 100Mbps. If you would like to increase the speed of your wireless what you need is to upgrade that to a b/g/n type which goes up to 100Mbps also with increase in distance. Also you have to make sure that the wireless access point or router also has a N-type wireless connectivity. Even if you have a N-type wireless card on your laptop, if the router is only up to G then it will still connect just up to 56Mbps.

Now, with regard to your bluetooth connection interfering with your wireless, You do not have to worry, both these devices connect at a different frequency. So they would not interfere with each other.

To connect to the Internet, certain hardware and services are needed, which are listed below. Without any one of these items, connection to the Internet is not possible.
  • Broadband Internet Service (also known as Internet Service Providers or ISP) - Telephone companies (also known as DSL, which uses a telephone line) and cable TV companies usually offer Internet service.

  • Broadband Modem - Normally, a broadband modem can be rented or purchased from the ISP.

  • Computer with a Network Adapter - This is usually a device located inside the computer.

  • Broadband Router - A router is used to connect all of your computers to the network (but is not needed for a single computer). The router also provides a way to connect to the Internet through the Broadband Modem.

Dell Inspiron 1525 not connecting wirelessly to Sky broadband

If your wireless router is configured with SSID, encryption, MAC address filtering (if enabled) etc. then the Dell wireless card needs to be configured with these settings to allow it to communicate with the wireless router.
Check the settings on your PC's wireless settings, and configure the Dell the same way.

Dell Inspiron 6000 won't connet wireless network after reinstall

check DEVICE MANAGER if the wireless card have the right driver installed. if you found that the wireless card have yellow exclamation point on the right it means, you installed a wrong driver.

check also in BIOS if the wireless card is enable and the switch is turn on.

press Fn+F2 to enable wireless radio/anthena (funtion key with wireless icon in blue color)

some dell laptop have hard switch located right side check this and turn the switch on.

if you want to see the icon n task bar, go to control panel....network connection...right click on wireless adapter...select properties...check Show on taskbar

Yes, Intel Pro/1000 is gigabit ethernet, which will do 100Mbps and 10Mbps too.
This will be compatable with your broadband requirements.
