check for fuel leaking in engine area --intake gasket--line--water --or have a damaged water jacket /head unit

Check the actual model and serial number with Mercury. If newer it’s possibly a four stroke. If it’s an older motor it’s more likely to be a two stroke.

If your old engine/control has the same 'options' as the30hp, yes everything is compatible... (Electric start or trim )
The throttle and shift cables are allways compatible...

check when its on full throttle that the carb butterfly is at 90deg and not over as this will reduce throttle but max advance on ignition !

I have a 2005 90 HP Mercury outboard 2-stroke. I replaced the Faria
multi function gauge (Tach-fuel-volt meter) with a GT0054A gauge.
The old gauge was a GT0057A, which I can't find. My question is what
setting do I place the dial on for a 3-cylindler Mercury.

I have a problem with my 2 stroke 20hp mercury 1989,when I run 10-90% throttle it's works fine but when in 100% its only runs in 90% and doesn't sound normal like it's not burning right.

can't start my 1993 bayliner 1400 jazz. replaced key switch, kill switch today. I got the boat last week running.
