Question about RTO 50cc Moped Scooter

I have a eagle pony 50 cc having problem with flooding,will run but when i give it gas it back fires and then when i turn it off it won't start back up can smell gas new plug new carb the piece under the gas the repair man says but still getting to much gas .....please help me.

Speedometer is not registering more than 20 miles per hour was woking fine then when for ride n it seemed to not be registering right.

9/10 time it is fuel related not enough fuel. Check the screws on the fuel valve if it is too tight it squish the rubber and whola no fuel.

Also try to run it with a bit of choke on, if it runs better then it is fuel starvation.

Lots to check for small engine. First, have Starter draw checked for spinning Voltage draw. May be turning below what is needed to get engine going. Check compression specs. 60 sounds better than 30, most engines should not be more than 10% different in cylinder to cylinder compression. Spray small amount of 30W oil in each cylinder to determine if compression changes. Rings at fault if it does help, valves at fault if it does not.

Did it fire with ether? Should have run for a couple of seconds with ether. The valve timing is important and you need to adjust the valves to insure best compression. Even if you have Specs to adjust a warm engine, you need to be close on a cold engine. Don't remember if Fergusons had optional adjustable lifters like Fords.

Bad coil? They can be bench checked. Check also with hot wire to coil disconnected if your switch is letting power go to coil in RUN position.
Check your Cam timing and distributor as well as the capacitor inside the Distributor. Firing order?

If it is firing and the spark is good it has to be the fuel system. Check the carb you just put in(make sure the gaskets are sealing and all the air ventilation holes are not clogged). also the air intake system. It is usually located around the carb connected to a hose or other rubber related system. You may have a leak somewhere. All you are getting is fuel and no air to balance out the fuel.

My 1998 tj jeep is hard to start, i replaced fuel pump because the filter had come off the end of it. and replaced the crank position sensor because i got a code po320 It ran fine for a while and then...

try to give it a little more gas it sputters an back fires! In the first place your not giving it more gas unless it running ! If just cranking all your doing is letting more air in . Your vehicle has electronic fuel injection , not a carbuerator . Till the computer see's a RPM over 300 rpm , it's going by programming installed in the PCM - engine computer . It sputters an back fires because of a lean condition , low fuel . When starting a fuel injection engine you don't touch the throttle pedal . And if you were to push it to the floor and hold it , the computer goes into clear flood mode. If the vehicle were flooded that is what you would want to do .

You may have O2 sensor problem or a map sensor or coolant temp . sensor . Your best take it an have a qualifiedd repair shop diagnose it .

Make sure the cable is hooked up on the carb slide inside the carb.

When you give it the gas it floods,

sounds like injectors may be shot..

Sounds like the ignition module or spark plug. The ignition module is what controls the spark plug that gives your saw the firing capabilities. Before you purchase one of those, replace the spark plug and see if that works. The 240 is a newer husqvarna; so I am skeptical to say it is the ignition module. However, any new product can have a bad part on it.

Your saw may have gotten flooded and won't start. Make sure your gas mixture is 50/50 gas to mixing oil. Always use fresh gas. If you make up gas and don't use a whole gallon at a time, put some fuel stabilizer in the mixture; so it will still be fresh the next time you use it.

Most definitely. You aren't getting enough gas, probably because the float valve is gummed up. Drain the gas, put in a little carb cleaner and a little fresh gas. Fire it up. Do that a couple of time if needed, then fill tank with fresh gas. Use a gas stabilizer like Sea Foam to prevent this.

they fail sometimes you need to make sure the snail has good bearings after its been boosting if its been turned off right away thats not good..with higher milage i would do drivability checks before i tear up a wastegate or charger ..your timing should be retarded a bit to boost correctly.
