There are two parts to the mouse - the mouse itself and the receiver. The receiver looks like a thumb drive. Plug the receiver into one of your USB ports (I assume you already have a battery in the mouse). Some laptops show that you have plugged in the receiver and automatically installs the driver. Look on the receiver and see if there is a flashing light. If so, that means the receiver is attempting to sync to the mouse. Look on the sides or bottom of the mouse and there should be a small button. Press that button and it will sync the mouse with the receiver. Let me know if this helps!

SOURCE: my ge wireless mouse 98552 won't hold a

Assuming the batteries in the mouse and keyboard are fully charged, next make sure all your cables are inserted correctly.

Check that the data cables leading from the base unit to the computer are securely inserted into the proper connectors at the rear of the case.

Next make sure the power cord for the base unit is plugged into a live power outlet and that the other end is securely plugged into the back of the base unit. Often times this plug will come out halfway and so will look plugged in but will cause intermittent problems.

Next make sure your mouse is not too far away from the base unit when you try to use it. Normally 8 or 10 feet is the maximum distance these units will function properly at. Also make sure there are no obstructions between the mouse and the base unit. You can also clean any dust or debris from the small LED bulb on the underside of the mouse with a dry QTip to ensure that is not the problem.

Now depress the CONNECT button on the base unit, then while the light is flashing depress the small CONNECT button on the bottom of the mouse.

Now try using the mouse.

If the unit still does not function after that, then leave them plugged in and RESTART your computer.

Repeat the CONNECT procedure for the mouse after your computer restarts if necessary.

You may have to do the connect procedure 3 or 4 times before it connects properly so just keep trying the connect process until it works. Make sure you have the mouse right right beside the receiver when you do the connect procedure. Also make sure you use a mouse pad under the mouse, some surfaces do not work well with certain mice. Also make sure there are no other wireless mice in the same room when you do this. Also make sure you don't have a regular mouse plugged into the computer at the same time. Try switching the receiver to a different USB port on your computer just in case the one you are currently using is faulty.

Please comment back here to this page if you have any questions, or just require further general assistance and I will respond as soon as I see it.

Thank you very much and good luck.

Joe.

No connection after changing the batteries and pressing the connect button.

You could try reinstalling the drivers that came with your mouse, also try pluging the wireless receiver into a differnet USB port. Check that the batteries are indeed the correct way round. It is possible that the batteries are not strong enough, try another set. Move the mouse as close to the receiver as possible.

Sometimes there is a connect button on the receiver as well as on the mouse, push them together if this is the case.

An additional test would be to try htis mouse set in another computer/laptop.

Take care!

I have a ge 98563 ergonomic wireless mini mouse and my laptop wont recognize it

I have had no problems with my compaq laptop and the mini mouse. It recognized it even after OS downgrade to XP. The reset buttons on the mouse and the transceiver need to be activated or reset when sitting idle for a while. Once you get them both "blinking" it works great. Good mouse for the price... Your laptop should recognize it. Just check the reset and make sure the lites are on and communicating.

Laptop wont sense wireless mouse

1. Check to see if there is a Connect Sync Button (small) on the bottom of the Mouse. Probably one one the USB Receiver as well... press both at the same time or within 10 seconds.
2. Or Try a different USB Port.
3. Make sure you see the Laser Mouse Red Light at the bottom... if not check battery positions.

I havve a HP G60*230US notebook and have purchased the GE wireless mouse, I can not seem to get it to work with my laptop..

Hi,
To activate the mouse press the connect button on the receiver and look underneath the mouse for the connect button and press that.
All you have to do then is right click on the mouse to activate it.

My GE mouse doesn't work anymore

First thing to do is check the device manager. If it shows up there, make sure that there are no icons saying there is a problem.
