For Canon Pixma MP500 - colors printing incorrectly

For Canon Pixma MP500 - just refilled ink tanks, but printed colors are not as selected on the screen. For example, background color for biz card is supposed to be light grey, but prints out more light greenish. Or dark blue font is a light blue font? All colors seem to be lighter and a bit different shade. Using standard paper to test. Thxs

Printing only b&w from a colour Canon Pixma 500

The Canon will not allow you to print with empty color tanks, or without them installed.Canon does not want the ink to dry in the printhead which would destroy he printhead.

Using refilled printer cartridges in Canon MP500, how to reset

There is no way to reset it, you just have to watch your ink by the printing you do, Normally, black ink will last up to 500 copies or more if you put your printer properties on fast print (this is to save ink when printing from the Standard version). In Color, it may vary with the projects that you do. The way I check, when my cartridges to see if they are almost out, is to run the clean cycle under the printer utilities menu, then the printer test page. This should show you what colors, and black ink you have or dont have. When you recycle or reuse your cartridges, the metal component that is on a new cartridge for the printer to recongize the it, is removed during refill process. I dont why the companies that fill the cartridges do put it back. I wish they would it would may things alot easier. I hope this helps.

Cyan missing on parts of a print out - Canon MP500

Common problem with this (and other) canon printers. I usually just lift the cover and lift the highlighted tank out and put it back in, sometimes I have to do that 2 or 3 times before it will let me print. If lifting that tank doesn't do it, try lifting all the tanks and putting them back. Eventually you will get a message that the tank you are refilling is empty (even if it's full). When that happens, press and hold the "stop/reset" button for 5 seconds (this is from Canon) then you will get a message that Canon will not be responsible for damage to the printer because you are using different ink than theirs (just ignore it). You can also try cleaning the contact points on both ink cartridge and on printer w/ cotton swab lightly dipped in alcohol.

Canon Pixma MP500 error

ok I figured out what to do. Open the over take out all your ink cartriages. Then flip the print head level on the left hand side up and squeeze the top of the print head (where all your ink sits on) and lift it up. You may want to blow off any dust that may be in there and put the peint head back and replace al your ink put the level down and you should be good to go if not you may have to replace the head.
