Question about Olympus Camedia C-750 Ultra Zoom Digital Camera

Custom settings disappear

Hi,
This is my second attempt for help with my camera problem. Up until recently my Olympus c-750 camera (4ish years old) retained all my custom settings as I changed batteries. Now, as soon as I remove the batteries all camera settings revert back to the factory settings. I put in newly charged batteries and than heve to reset everything to my liking. It happens at every battery change. Is there an internal battery that is supposed to provide power to retain custom settings? Perhaps a capacitor to provide power?? If so, are they replaceable??. Any help is welcomed. If you replyed in the past, I must have missed that response. Perhaps sending me an email would be better. Thanks

I also have this camera which has just started exhibiting the same problem. I believe there is an untra capacitor soldered on a circuit board within the camera that holds the settings during battery changes. Much like computer motherboards. When this fails, the main batteries are quickly drained as they continue to try charging this capacitor. Apparently a replacement capacitor has been sourced by people overseas, but here in Australia I have yet to find a replacement supplier. It would be a shame to throw out an otherwise good camera for the sake of a $3.00 part. Does anyone know where this part can be sourced in Aus. It's a 0.2F 3.3 volt cap from Panasonic ECG. part number EEC-EN0F204RL.

Mju 400 slow down with 2GB xD-PicCard?!?!

It's possible that your camera, being 7 years old, was never designed for a 2gb card. You can find cards of all sizes at amazon.com

I have an Olympus FE-230 and it suddenly starts taking black and white pictures. I don't know what I did, but how can I get color back?

I have had my Olympus FE-210 for about 2 1/2 years just recently it started to display an all black screen after I took pictures and like many of you I would turn it off and back on just to get 1 picture out. After testing it over and again I may have solved the problem: First: remove all of the pictures and memory card from the camera Second: go into the menu and find the reset button it will then display that the camera will return to default(factory setting) after I did this I was able to take over 35 continuous pictures using every setting and scene setting the camera has If this doesn't work I would suggest buying a new camera Hopes this helps!!

Olympus E-500 flash smelling like burnt plastic

You should contact Olympus about this.

Olympus have had a recall on some older 35mm film cameras for problems with the flash circuit.

Olympus FE 190 pictures are blurry

Check any adjustments that have to with resolution. Do they look more pixellated when you look at them on the computer. Or do the pictures look out of focus?

You should check under the Shooting guide #3 (blurring background) to see if this helps you.

If none of the settings (ISO settings, resolution, lighting, image stabilization mode) help you, contact HP next.

This camera, if I recall correctly, is a fairly basic camera. I would contact HP and see what they can do for you. Since the camera is close to the warranty period of one year, they should cover it under warranty.
