The shortcut keys are the shortcut keys. The don't vary from keyboard to keyboard. If they're not working as expected the keyboard drivers need to be installed (or reinstalled after uninstalling first).

I need to copy text with this built in mouse on my Toshiba laptop...cannot figure it out.

Hi there! To copy text follow these steps, 1) Put the mouse cursor at the beginning of the text you want to highlight. Click the left mouse button and then drag the cursor to the end of the text that you want to copy. The text should now be highlighted blue. 2) Right click on the highlighted blue text 3) Left click on the "copy" option in the menu that just opened.
If you cannot get the right click menu to work, there is a keyboard shortcut for "copy" - CTRL-C After the text is highlighted, press those two keys at the same time to copy.
To paste, right click where you want the text to go, then select "paste" - keyboard shortcut is CRTL-V

Where is my Dell computers Command key?

The Command Key is only found in Mac computers. It gives shortcuts to common commands by using the keyboard. The Control Key (CTRL) gives the same function in Windows computers. Therefore, the Command Key on Dell computers or any other windows-based computer is the Control Key (CTRL).
For Example...
  1. CTRL + C = Copy
  2. CTRL + V = Paste
  3. CTRL + S = Save
  4. CTRL + X = Cut
  5. CTRL + Shift Key + S = Save As

I am the new user, Kindly support me with out charging users guides on how to use ms word easily with short cut keys

Open up Word, click on Help >> MS Office Word Help and a whole bunch of online solutions will appear on the right side. Have fun.

For example:

About shortcut keys
You can quickly accomplish tasks you perform frequently by using shortcut keys - one or more keys you press on the keyboard to complete a task.

For example, pressing CTRL+B changes the selected text to bold, just as clicking Bold on the Formatting toolbar (toolbar: A bar with buttons and options that you use to carry out commands. To display a toolbar, press ALT and then SHIFT+F10.) or selecting Bold in the Font dialog box (Format menu) changes the selected text to bold.

Printing a list of shortcut keys

If you frequently refer to the Help topics that list shortcut keys, you may find it helpful to keep a printed copy of those topics. In Help, locate the topic you want, and then click Print .

You can also run a macro (macro: An action or a set of actions that you can use to automate tasks. Macros are recorded in the Visual Basic for Applications programming language.) that creates a list of the current shortcut key assignments, and then print the list.

On the Tools menu, point to Macro, and then click Macros.
In the Macros in box, click Word commands.
In the Macro name box, click ListCommands.
Click Run.
In the List Commands dialog box, click Current menu and keyboard settings.
Click OK.
On the File menu, click Print.
Customizing shortcut keys

You can customize shortcut keys in Microsoft Word by assigning shortcut keys to commands that do not already have them or by removing shortcut keys you don't want. If you don't like the changes you make, you can return to the default shortcut key settings at any time.

Using shortcut keys with different keyboard layouts or Word as your e-mail editor

Shortcut keys mentioned in the Help topics, menus, and dialog boxes refer to the U.S. keyboard layout. Keys on other layouts may not correspond exactly to the keys on a U.S. keyboard. If the language of the keyboard layout you are using doesn't match the language you set for Microsoft Word or Word Help, you may have to make adjustments when using shortcut keys or change your keyboard layout.

If you are using Word as your e-mail editor, some of the shortcut keys listed may not be available or may produce different results.

Pasteing and how it works

If you mean pasting in relation to cut / copy & pasting

How it works
When you cut or copy something, for example text, it is saved into the clipboard. Then when you paste, the text that is in the clipboard gets pasted. You can paste that same text more than once, it stays in the clipboard until it is over written (by cutting ot copying something else) or you restart your PC.

How to use it
There is a couple of ways to cut / copy & paste

1. Use right clicking menu
you can select something, some text for example, then right click on it with your mouse and select Cut or Copy. To paste right click where you want the text to be pasted and select Paste

2. Use application's Edit drop down menu
you can select something, some text for example, then select the application's Edit drop down menu and select Cut or Copy. To paste click where you want the text to be pasted select the application's Edit drop down menu and select Paste

3. Use keyboard shortcuts
you can select something, some text for example, then press Ctrl + X to Cut or Ctrl + C to Copy. To paste click where you want the text to be pasted then press Ctrl + V to Paste

Hope this helps
