Sears HE3 Dryer - "Check Lint Screen" light is on. I cleaned lint screen and area around screen but light will not extinguish and dryer will not turn on. I unplugged dryer for a time and plugged back in and still light will not turn off. Light comes on as soon as power button is pressed. It flashes at a steady pace. I can change modes on the dryer to the different drying options but am unable to turn it on --- What else can I do or is it some "Comupter Chip or Board" problem?

I am not familiar with your dryer, but it sounds like a safety mechanism where if your lint screen is not cleaned the dryer will not turn on. That "Check Lint Screen" light for your dryer may be connected to a sensor near the lint screen area. Check that out and see if that is the problem. If there is a sensor it could be faulty,

My name is Peter. I am a retired field service appliance technician.

There are two spring clips, one on each side of the bottom toe plate panel.

How do u check to see if the dryer vent is plugged

  • Check your lint screen. If there isn't much lint on it and you've been doing laundry, it's possible the lint may have been caught in the vent instead of the lint screen, which means you have a clog. Lint in the area around where your dryer is can also be a sign of a problem. For More information please visit Dryer Parts.

Error code CL on Kenmore Dryer

The "Check lint screen" light is just a reminder to check the and clean the lint screen before or after each load. There is not a sensor that will detect if it's clean or dirty, it's just a reminder. The "Check lint screen" should turn off as soon as the dryer is started. If it never turns off then the control board would need to be replaced in order for the check lint screen reminder to turn off, however the check ling screen reminder light staying on will not effect the operation of the dryer.
Here is the control board to order.

The part comes with a 365 day, any part, any reason return.

How do I clean the lint out of the Kenmore Eite He3 past the lint screen?

Remove lint screen. Remove bottom front kick panel (usually three to four screws on very bottom front), There is a metal lint filter air duct assembly that has three to four screws holding it on. Usually one on each upper side of the duct, and one that has a bent metal bracket holding the bottom to the blower housing. This metal duct is dead center in the dryer under the door and ducts over to the bottom left. Remove the screws and pull the duct down and out. You can now clean this assembly. Needless to say, always unglug the dryer or turn it off at the circuit breaker before doing this job. I recommend that you do this at least once a year on the dryer, and clean out the washer lint and coin catcher at least once a year. Good Luck, Appliance Specialists.

Lint Filter Light comes on and cycle is interupted

Depending on how old this is or how much it is used depends how much lint has built up inside
the air flow tube. I have seen where you look inside where the lint screen is and beneath it with screen removed there is nothing but lint, in which case the dryer thinks the screen is clogged. You might have two screws on the inside of the drum that hold the screen holder in place. First remove the lint screen
and hold the little door that closes when you remove the screen, open the little door and look down inside it with a flash light, if you see a lot of lint, like I said you might be able to remove the holder
and clean this area out, also take a coat hanger and bend a little piece at the end and use this to get most of the lint out of this area and the tube that Leeds down from this area. If this can be done
and you get this area clean and it still happens, you might have to clean the entire area the tube
and the back tube, the tube leeding to the outside of the house and vent. Any questions please post back.
