Problem may be due to your not printing for quite some time. The ink can start to dry and clog the print heads.
Use a Q-tip slightly moistened with water to clean cartridge ports and print head.
It's worth repairing, That error on a Canon is saying that the printhead is bad, not your cartridges. The part number for your printhead is stamped on the side of the printhead could be QY6-0049-000 but I'm not sure.
The problem sounds like a broken or stripped gear in the printer. If the unit is under warranty I would contact the authorized repair station for that printer in your local area.
The real problem is that the waste ink tank is nearly full Correct code procedure for resetting the Canon MP370 Reset Waste Ink 1) Enter SERVICE MODE. By pressing the black button with the star (in a head ?) above it, followed by scan, copy, scan 2) Select TEST MODE (press right arrow button 13 times). 3) Select [8] PRINTER TEST 4) It'll now say "- 8-2 +" press the right arrow key once to get "- 8-3 +" Hit ok. 5) Select 0. [INK COUNT]. 6) Press the ok key. 7) It should return to showing the "8: Printer Test - 8-3 +" 8) Press the [Stop/Reset]key - black key with triangle and circle on it – (returning to the state of 3)), and then press the [ON/OFF] key.
Good Luck and don't blame me if it goes wrong !!!! Now you can print again, but it has not solved your full ink-tank, that has to be solved in future. Theo
Are the cartridges re-manufactored or original canon cartridge?
Most cartridges have chips or fuses that burn out when the cartridge has been used. Then when you get it re-filled the cartridge is already rendered useless.
If the cartridges are orignal canon then you may have another issue perhaps with the printer head, in a last resort you should try to clean this will alochol and a cotton bud "lightly"
