Canon USA has a down loadable file for the manual.

Here is the link.

Here is what is being said of this error on the forums:

Fixing this error is much easier as it looks. Unplug the printer completely. Move the ink cartridge cradle gently to the left. Over to the right at it's usual resting place you will see a small pad about 1cm square. This pad and the area around should be covered with ink. Get a microfibre cloth and press down on this pad - it's not fixed so should come away with the cloth, otherwise use tweezers gently. Squeeze the pad several times between your thumb and forefinger while inside the microfibre cloth to remove ink build up. Then when not much ink comes out on the cloth, clean the area in the printer around the pad so that looks free from ink too. Then position the pad back in place, move the cradle back into position, plug in and switch on - should work fine now. But it's worth checking for any paper caught near the ink pad

My printer canon pixma IX4000, have service error 5C00. please help the solution. Thanks a lot before..

It is carriage error, purge unit error or main board problem.

Take it to Cannon or service center to fix the problem.

If it is too expensive to repair, just buy another unit.

Sometimes it is better.

If still under warranty, then claim your warranty.

It falshes orange and it makes a raddling noise

Hi,

This error is cauded when there is a issue with the waste ink tank, which in your case will have to be resetted. To do the same please follow the steps as provided in the below article:

http://tricks-collections.com/waste-ink-tank-full-reset-canon-i80/

Also you can visit the cannon website and it tells you in detail the meaning/resolution when the orange light flashes:

http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/support/consumer/printers_multifunction/i_series/i80#ServiceAndSupport

Fo to section "Services and support" and there in the dialog bos type "orange light flshes and it will give you steps to follow.

Please let me know if you need any further information.

Canon i9950 printer problem error 5c00

According to the Service Manual Error Code List these are the two possible candidates to cause this failure:
- Purge unit (Part-No. QM2-1307)
- Logic board ***’y (Part-No. QM2-1272/QM2-1273)
which means, this device has to go to the service.

Error code says 5c00 on my canon pixma mp500 printer. cant find my manual to figure out what the code means

The error code 5c00 usually means that there is a paper jam or paper path restriction.
If the path is not restricted, the printer will need servicing.
If you want a downloadable user manual for your printer go to
http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&tabact=SupportDetailTabAct&fcategoryid=238&modelid=11995

Error 5C00 loud scratching sound when i switch on the printer. what do i do?

5C00 is a purge assembly error, look inside on the right with a flashlight, make sure there is no paper scrap or or anything that doesn't belong. If nothing is there you need a new print engine, QM2-2020-000 around $100.00

Service error 5C00

Service error 5C00 might indicate the purge system.

The "rattling sound " is probably coming from the (gears of-) socalled purge unit. May be one ( or both) of the ink tanks is not properly put back in again,or the printhead-lock is not locked. and the purge system is blocked.

Remove the ink tanks and remove the printhead, closw the printhead-lock, close the printhead cover, switch the printer of, switch the printer on again. If the rattling sound is still there, than you might have an expensive problem to be solved.
If the rattling sound is gone, there is probably something wrong with the printheadlock.

Printer canon i320

Here is the Cannon Service Tool... you should be able to reset the printhead error using this. I've never used it myself, but it is the only fix other than a service call that I know of.
Cannon charges almost $100 for this tool... here its free.
